Saroj Khan (real name Nirmala Nagpal), just turned 71 and is still one of the most prominent Indian dance choreographers in Bollywood. With a career span of over forty years, Saroj Khan has choreographed more than 2000 songs including the popular ones like Ek Do Teen, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Maar Dala, Kate Nahin Kat Te, etc and is known as "The Mother of Dance/Choreography in India." The dance legend has worked with almost all the Bollywood biggies like Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sridevi, Katrina Kaif, Kajol, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Suniel Dutt and many more.

Directed by Subhash Ghai, Saudagar starred Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar, in the leading roles (their second collab after their 1959 film Paigham). It featured the debut performances of Vivek Mushran and Manisha Koirala. The movie also starred Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Gulshan Grover, Dina Pathak and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.
