      Twesigye Jackson Kaguri was born and raised in Uganda in the small village of Nyakagyezi.  At a very young age he demonstrated an unquenchable desire to learn, which led him to study at and graduate from Makerere University in Kampala. During this time he co-founded the human rights organization, Human Rights Concerns, to help victims of human rights violations in Uganda and to educate the public about their rights. In the 90s he became a visiting scholar at Columbia University where he studied Human Rights Advocacy. Over the years he has been involved extensively in international community efforts as a human rights advocate, fundraiser, and inspirational speaker.   In 2001, Kaguri founded The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project in response to the devastating effects of AIDS in his hometown. The organization, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, provides free education to children who have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS.       Jonathan Wright is a candidate running for Democratic State Representative of District Four in Wayne County. His father is an accomplished and dedicated preacher. His father, also a physician, and younger brother were instrumental in organizing a mission in Haiti during the recent and ongoing crisis.  Jon attended a parochial high school, where he learned the value of hard work. After graduating high school in 2003, he attended the University of Michigan, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduating from law school, he moved into the heart of Detroit.     James E. Simmons is an associate in the Tallahassee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he practices in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice, and nursing home defense litigation. Previously, Mr. Simmons was an assistant general counsel with the Department of Financial Services in Tallahassee, Florida, where he handled insurance related matters, including prosecuting cases regarding licensing, unauthorized public adjusting, and unfair business practices.     Dr. S. Bernard Clinkscale is a 2011 graduate of Xavier (Bonaire) University School of Medicine who plans on specializing in anesthesiology and pain management. Born and raised in Greenville, SC, he completed his undergraduate degree in psychology from Florida State University. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Clinkscale was a teaching assistant for second and third grade students with special needs.  Dr. Clinkscale is a member Christian Faith Outreach Ministries and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is passionate about witnessing to those around him and being a positive role model for youth. He states that he received his drive and passion from his parents who always emphasized that nothing is impossible for God. Dr. Clinkscale currently works with podiatric surgeon Anthony Mathis in Greer, SC, and will graduate with an MBA from Davenport University with a concentration in Healthcare Administration in 2013.

      Michael J. Williams is from Orlando, Florida and attended Florida A & M University. He received Bachelor’s Degrees in Jazz Studies and Philosophy & Religion magna cum laude. Michael is a Ladd Scholar at the Florida State University College of Law. He will receive his J.D. this spring. Michael is passionate about advocating for equality, education and arts programs for minorities. To that end, Michael serves as the president of the award-winning Delores Poindexter Auzenne Chapter of the Black Law Students Association, an organization committed to improving conditions for black law students and the black community. In addition to his studies and community work, Michael handles family law cases as a certified legal intern, volunteers as a teaching assistant for criminal justice courses at Florida A&M University, and serves as a consultant for a local jazz music venue.
