Come along with me, Shaun Newman, as I track down unique stories centered around current & past athletes. I am a former Junior A, Division 3 hockey player. I spent a short cup of coffee in Finlands Suomi Sarja League and in 2006 biked across Canada. I currently play Senior for the Hillmond Hitmen in the SaskAlta Hockey League.Believe life is an adventure and everyone has a unique story to tell. Here we will try and uncover some of those stories.

    Born & raised in Humboldt SK. He played all his minor hockey & junior in Humboldt which resulted in back to back SJHL championships & a national title in 2008. He spent 3 seasons as an assistant coach for the club before taking a job with the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL (the year of the bus crash). He is now the head coach of the North Battleford North Stars where he has won an SJHL title in his first year & a coach of the year award in 2020.  Wicked guy. Enjoy.     Born in Saskatoon SK, I think it's safe to say we all know Mark from his days growing up in Elk Point AB.    He was undrafted & played his Junior 'A' with the Bonnyville Pontiacs. During his final season he led the AJHL in scoring & was the league MVP. He played one season for Western Michigan NCAA Div 1 & then signed in 2007 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has since spent 10 years in the NHL playing 567 games split between Pittsburgh, Columbus, Edmonton & currently Winnipeg.     Born & raised in Milestone SK. He made his broadcasting debut as a 20 year old for the P.A. Raiders of the WHL. From there he spent over a decade with the Regina Pats & in 1999 became the voice of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He spent 20 years with the Riders & we discussed some of the championships, the infamous 13th man & the beloved fans. We talked about his struggles with alcohol, being sober for 5 years, the job he "had" with the Calgary Flames but was rescinded (crazy story) and now doing the Rod Pedersen Show.     Originally from Irma AB Jason's playing days had him go through Junior A, NCAA Div 1, back to the WHL & then onto Pro in the ECHL. His career was cut short due to a baseball swing of the stick to the face (I kid you not), but it is his coaching career that sticks out. He was apart of the Spruce Grove Saints where he would win 4 AJHL championships, a CJHL coach of the year award and the honour of coaching Canada West at the U19 Junior A Challenge. Here is a guy that has talent oozing out whether it is in ball where he won national championships & played for team Canada or hockey where he played Junior 'A' & had a full ride up to Alaska NCAA Div 1. In this episode although I am talking to a talented athlete it is his story about his billet dad trying to molest him that has shook him to the core. This is one we all need to hear & I appreciate Ambrose sitting down to share his story.

    Golfing with Michael Jordan thats pretty much the jumping off point for this one. Born & raised in Lloydminster Clarke was undrafted in the WHL bantam draft, but that hardly slowed him down. He won a AJHL Championship & then followed it up with a WHL championship. Was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres 74th overall in 2003 and over his career played over 500 games between Buffalo, Atlanta, Toronto & Ottawa.

    Born & raised in Lloydminster Whitney has a very unique story. After graduating from high school she moved to Toronto where she was spotted walking down the street & shortly after was on the cover of harlequin novels. Over time with many shoots & gigs she moved to Milan, Italy where she has now been for 7 years modelling full time. Whitney has now been all over the world for different designers & has played a part in some of the biggest fashion stages/shows in the world.

    Born & raised in Lloydminster. Kale was taken in the Bantam draft by the Brandon Wheat Kings where he would win a league title along with a WHL defensemen of the year award. He competed twice for Canada at the World Juniors winning a Silver medal in 2017 & a Gold in 2018. He was drafted 51st overall in 2016 by the L.A Kings & is currently playing for the Ontario Reign.

    Originally from Asquith, SK. He started in the amateur rodeoing circuit at age 14 and by 20 he was a professional bull fighter. He's had 4 selections to the Canadian rodeo finals &  2 selections to Canadian bull rider finals. During his career he represented himself & when he retired he started representing Professional Bull Riders. In 2010 he joined Thunder Creek Professional Player Management where he now represents players like Ethan Bear, Damon Severson & Micheal Ferland (among others) All episodes are also available on Youtube & Spotify.     Born & raised in Paradise Hill SK. Played for the Red Deer Rebels where in his final season he led the WHL in scoring with 120pts in 70 games & earned the league award for Most Valuable Player. The Rebels that year would go onto win the WHL championship & the Memorial Cup. Justin was drafted in 1999 by the New York Islanders and from 2001 -2012 he spent time between the NHL, AHL & Europe.
