Jesus calls us his followers to guard against covetousness and worry and counter it by having an eternal perspective and a Kingdom pursuit. A nagging desire for more than what you have diminishes your enjoyment of what you have, it dishonors God who has graciously provided what you have, and it demonstrates ingratitude and discontentment. And Jesus offers us a better way of life. Jesus, who is the source of life, offers us a life that reflects the values of His Kingdom.
