On May 20, 2021, Bryan Woodcox tested positive for Covid-19. His only symptoms were a fever and body aches. They did a chest X-ray, and it looked completely normal. On May 22, he was having trouble keeping his oxygen saturation levels up, so he went to the ER at 9:30pm. A new X-ray showed that his lungs were “much, much worse.” A Covid Room was found at a different hospital, so he was transported there and admitted at 2:30am. The disease progressed such that in only 24-hours Bryan was unable to breathe on his own. Covid had inflicted extensive damage to his lungs. The medical team told us he had to be intubated, or he would die within the hour. They gave us time to say good-bye, because they did not expect him to ever wake up.
