This is a comment/question we get A LOT. Are Mormons brainwashed? There are a lot of reasons as to why members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints might be viewed as brainwashed and we want to address those reasons, as members of the LDS Church. Debate.org asked why Mormons are brainwashed and they received a variety of answers, which we discuss here. Some of the answers include:    “Children are told to join the Church at age 8.”  “Missionaries have the same script every time they talk to someone.”   “They tell each other that they are part of the only true church.”   “They claim that nothing is the Church’s fault, it’s always the fault of the member.”   “They base their beliefs off of “feeling” and not off of fact.”  

It was a privilege to have Brock Heasley on the show! He is an author and a film director with a truly POWERFUL testimony and perspective of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His father was shot and killed while Brock was on his mission when he was 19 years old. He shares how he feels about the men who killed his father… and it might surprise you!

Today we are sharing one of our favorite conversion stories with you! Ryan Stream, current motivational speaker and musician, joined us to chat about his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church). Ryan shares his story of living as an orphan, being adopted, going through a rebellious childhood, joining the army, getting married, going through drug addiction, and finally realizing his purpose. Ryan has been through SO MUCH (as have many of you), you’ll probably find many parts of his story that resonate with you and your story. Ryan gives amazing advice on how to overcome obstacles, how to find purpose, and how to live up to your potential.

We wanted to share our beliefs authentically, as our beliefs seemed to be told by people who were very much against our religion. If you follow our channel, you know that hosts Sam and Justin are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church). While they have been members of the Church for the majority of their lives, they have attended many other church meetings for other religions and in this episode, they share their experiences in such churches. Both Sam and Justin talk about the good in attending other churches to learn additional truths and better one’s commitment to Jesus Christ. They discuss the things that they’ve learned and the ways in which they’ve improved their connection with God by experiencing other religions.

In the past few months, we’ve been trying to cover more topics pertaining to women (particularly Mormon women). In this episode, Sam and Justin talk about women in the workforce. Do women belong in the workforce? And in regards to Mormon women, should they stay at home?    Sam talks about the history of Mormon in the workforce (things that have been said to members and leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ in the past), the current statistics about both women generally and Mormon women, and Sam’s current personal opinions about being a female in the workforce.    There has been a history of patriarchy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (and throughout the world). Such beliefs caused many women to choose against pursuing an education or full-time job outside of the home. But is that what the current belief is among Mormon women? Or have things changed? Should things change even more, if they’ve changed at all?

We filmed this episode on November 3rd, 2020, ELECTION DAY in the United States of America! (Also, we realize many of you aren’t from the USA and didn't vote, BUT we hope this episode is still beneficial in some way.) A common question we get, as members of the Church of Jesus Christ (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), is if we all align the same politically. The answer? Absolutely not! In this episode, we mention some of the history of LDS voting and how it has evolved today. David and Justin talk about their thoughts on politics and the importance of voting.

We LOVE having guests on our channel to share their conversion stories to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church) and this episode with Melanie is no exception!! Melanie joined us via Zoom from the United Kingdom to talk about how she joined the Church in August of 2020. In school, she heard about the Church of Jesus Christ from her religion class and wanted to know more. She researched the life of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and everything else related to the history of the Church. In the end, she gave up with her studies of the Church until a little bit later, it was brought up again. After much study, she learned A LOT of controversy and finally decided to join the Church. There seems to be an ongoing controversy about why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church) has no official stance on plastic surgery but has expressed disdain for tattooing one's body. In this episode, we address our personal opinions on plastic surgery, why plastic surgery is so common in Utah (a Mormon-populated state), and how tattoos fit into the picture. Sam talks about the constant pressure of looking a certain way to “compete” (or at least, compare) with other members in her peer group, thus perpetuating the idea of needing plastic surgery. In this episode, Peyton joins us again (watch his conversion stories if you haven’t) to talk about his experience as a recent convert in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church). After Peyton’s conversion, he went through a series of difficulties (as is common after converting to the Church) which led him to need the power of repentance in his life. However, as a recent convert to the LDS Church, he had a limited view of how repentance works in his new religion. He shares his story of repentance, what repentance is to him, and how repentance can work actively in your life. This is the first time we’ve interviewed with someone who was previously a member of the Luciferian Church and is now a member of the LDS Church. He tells his story of marrying his wife, a member of the LDS Church, and trying to persuade his wife to leave the Church. We’ve wanted to talk about this for a LONG TIME because, well, women have been oversexualized for a long time and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. We are so grateful to have Samantha share some incredible insights on the topic and are grateful for David’s listening ear during this episode.   In this episode, we discuss what female oversexualization is, why it has become what it has become, and how we MUST DO BETTER as a society (and as subscribers to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) to change.    Samantha shares her experience of oversexualization and how the need to look a certain way has dictated many of her thoughts and choices. We LOVE the comments we get on our videos! As you can see in the comment sections, we get a lot of love and a lot of hate and a lot of everything in between. Being members of the Church of Jesus Christ (often called Mormons), sharing our opinion on YouTube is both exciting and intimidating. There aren't many members of the Church (also referred to as the LDS Church) who strictly talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ (shout out to those who do!) so our voices make a lot of people very angry.    But guess what?    We read EVERY comment and love you all for commenting and expressing your opinions. Seriously. Keep it up :) That said, some comments are pretty laughable so we can't help but share them with everyone
