Being a single Mormon after divorce
09/04/2020 Duração: 13minIn this episode, Kwaku talks with the amazing Lauren about her divorce as a young adult. Divorce at any age isn't always easy. And when divorce happens shortly after marriage, there are a lot of social stigmas that follow the separated couple (especially in religious cultures where marriage is so heavily emphasized). In this episode, Lauren talks about how she grew closer to her family and became more spiritually strong. She had to rely on those closest to her and learned the importance of the relationships with her close friends and family. I hid the Book of Mormon for YEARS -- Elaine's conversion story ❤
08/04/2020 Duração: 14minWe LOVE conversion stories! In this episode, Elaine tells about her story of finding the Church and it's absolutely AMAZING! Elaine was confused with the doctrines taught by her church leaders so she decided to look into other religions. During her search, her friend gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon. As she read, she knew there was truth in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church). However, Elaine had difficulty sharing her love of the gospel with her friends and family because they weren't as accepting as she had hoped. Elaine said that her friends were skeptical at first but realized that she was the same Elaine; just happier than before. We know that many of you struggle with unaccepting friends and family. You are not alone in this hardship. You are loved and supported :) Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://saintsunscripted/subscribe :)

Does God have a Plan for Me?
07/04/2020 Duração: 19minHave you ever wondered what members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe about God's plan for them? Well, today in this episode Justin and Mimi will give you an idea of what they believe on this subject. They talk about their beliefs in how God has played a part in their individual lives and the different experiences they have each had in learning what His plan is for them. A lot of times Mormons are raised to be very goal driven with a perfectionist mindset, so we sometimes get down on ourselves when things don't go the way we plan them to. Mimi talks about how she navigated the changes in her life, and going from what she thought her life would be to what it is today, and Justin talks about how God taught him how to better listen to His voice. What 'married forever' actually means...
06/04/2020 Duração: 13minIn the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church or LDS Church), members believe they can be married to their spouse for time (while both are living) and for ALL ETERNITY (even after death). We believe that we can live forever with every member of our family. We believe that Jesus Christ broke the bands of death and as such, allowed every single person EVER to live for eternity, no matter the religious affiliation or decisions made while on the earth. We believe that death doesn't have to be the end but that life can be continued forever. HOW COOL!!! Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://saintsunscripted/subscribe :)

How can there be contradictions in God's church, feat. Nathan
03/04/2020 Duração: 13minIn today's episode of Saints Unscripted we talk to Nathan about contradictions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (also known as the Mormon church). Nathan is from San Fransico and wanted to come and talk with us about contradictions in the church, and why it is okay to have them. Some faith crisis start by seeing there are contradictions in the so-called "true church". It is important to remember that no one is perfect and that includes the prophet and leaders of the church. The lord leaves room for us to test and grow our faith. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://saintsunscripted/subscribe :)

The history of the Church of Jesus Christ starts in the early 1800s. The Church was established in 1830 under the direction of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. The Church had MANY difficulties in the beginning and at times, seemed to be near failure. However, today the Church stands at more than 17 million members strong. So what were the beginnings of the Church that paved the way for the gospel of Jesus Christ? Mormon Stereotypes: True or False?
01/04/2020 Duração: 07minAre Mormons polygamous? Do all Mormons have a lot of kids? Do all Mormons live in Utah? Do all Mormons go to BYU? There are SO MANY stereotypes about members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as Mormons). Are the stereotypes true? Well, as with many stereotypes, they contain some amount of truth and that's what we talk about in this video. We address many different stereotypes and respond to their veracity. Mimi first addresses the question of polygamy. She says that she doesn't have multiple moms, as she is often accused. Kwaku responds by reading off a list of stereotypes and giving a quick answer to each. David talks about the age at which LDS members (or 'Mormons') get married, among other things. Do Mormons Have Gifts of the Spirit?
31/03/2020 Duração: 17minIf you've been to a service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), you may have noticed that there is lots of talk about the Spirit and gifts of the Spirit. But what is a gift of the spirit? And how do I know if I have one? And what do I do when I realize I have such a gift?? We believe that all people can have gifts of the spirit. While we may not realize our gifts until later in life, we believe that all people have the potential to attain and act on such gifts. In this episode, we talk about many different gifts of the spirit, the gifts that the hosts have, and what to do when you feel you have such a gift. We're SO grateful that God is active in the lives of His children (all of us) and that he has given us gifts to grow and improve. ESCAPING Human Trafficking - Coco's Story
23/03/2020 Duração: 19minToday's episode is more intense than ones we've done in the past and for good reason. Today we talk with Coco about her experience in being a victim of human trafficking. Coco shares her story of miraculously escaping when she was a teenager, eventually finding the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly known as the Mormon Church) and forging her future. Victims of human trafficking go through different experiences, different phases of grief, and different thought processes. However, all are the same in that they have profound stories of pain, hope, trial, and happiness that we can all believe and learn from. They are also the same in that each victim is worthy of love, happiness, normality, and comfort. If Coco's story sounds similar to yours and you have yet to escape human trafficking, REACH OUT. Mormon to Atheist to Mormon | Leo's Story
18/03/2020 Duração: 20minToday Kwaku had an awesome opportunity to talk with Leo Winegar who we absolutely adore. He has been a long time commenter on our videos and a solid defender of the faith. Leo was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as Mormons) but upon discovering the polygamous life of Joseph Smith, he left the Church. Instead of searching for another Christ-based religion, Leo became atheist. He was married to a devoted member of the Church and didn't want their marriage to end so he was cautious in going about his leaving the Church. However, Leo soon felt prompted to reach out to a professor at BYU with his concerns. The professor responded with kindness and provided the answers Leo needed to continue back on his journey toward discipleship. Have you ever experienced a faith crisis? Do they get a break or are they talking with people all day, every day? How much do Mormon missionaries get paid? In this episode, we answer these questions and hear mission stories from both Justin and David. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://saintsunscripted/subscribe :)

How to Write and Give a Mormon Talk
13/03/2020 Duração: 12minWARNING: This is strictly our opinion so when you write a talk, follow the Spirit first... and then take our advice ;) Members of the LDS Church are asked to give 'talks' (lessons, lectures, sermons, whatever you might call it) during Sacrament meeting on Sundays. Justin explains that typically a member of the bishopric will call or approach you, asking if you will give a talk in the future. While you don't have to say yes, giving a talk is a great opportunity to learn and to grow. Kwaku says it's important to keep your mind fully in the talk. It's very likely the case that the audience isn't out to judge every word you say. David says that half of the battle is the long wait before your talk comes. If you can make it to the pulpit, you're going to be okay. :) He also says that really, talks aren't necessarily to teach something profound and new-- talks are a way to relay what you've learned while studying the topic. Mostly, giving a talk requires prayer

Mormon Leaders are HUMANS! feat. Stephen Jones
11/03/2020 Duração: 20minWe LOVED having Stephen Jones on the show with us to talk about the humanity of LDS Church leaders. Stephen is not only a successful comedian but is a spiritual GIANT so having him on the show was a dream come true. Many critics of the Mormon Church claim that the Church is run by imperfect people. Well, it turns out that the claim is true! Many LDS leaders have said things that aren't perfect. Stephen says that we often put people in authority in a box and believe that they can't leave the box because for whatever reason, it would be incorrect and out of character for a representative of God to be acting in such a way. But David says that sometimes we underestimate the importance of what is going to happen after this life. We've got an eternity to work on things. We're going to make mistakes, the prophets are going to make mistakes, but we're all going to work it out at some point with the help of God. Kwaku talks about his side of the story- being the recipient of missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes called the LDS Church). Kwaku gives advice as far as what kinds of things to expect and what you should expect of yourself as well. David and Justin both served missions and talk about their side of the story. Is God Married?
04/03/2020 Duração: 11minToday on 3 Mormons, we talk about Heavenly Mother. We frequently refer to God being our Heavenly Father but rarely do we credit Heavenly Mother. We believe that Heavenly Father works in unison with Heavenly Mother and that both are integral to our existence. As Mormons we believe that we can become like God so it only makes sense that there is both a male and female God. Mimi talks about the important role of motherhood. Kwaku talks about the history of a female God and also shares a personal experience about going to Temple Square in Salt Lake City with his non-Mormon friend and learning about Heavenly Mother. What do you think? Ever thought about a Heavenly Mother? Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://saintsunscripted/subscribe :)

Inactive Mormon decides to GO BACK to Church, feat. Collin
02/03/2020 Duração: 14minToday we got to talk with one of the coolest humans -- COLLIN. Collin is from Salt Lake City, Utah (the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, otherwise known as Mormons) but he wasn't fully active in the Church of Jesus Christ. He remembers a few primary songs and Articles of Faith and such from his childhood but wasn't very interested in the Church and its teachings, even though he was baptized when he was young. Collin's friends then began inviting him to go to Church and seminary and so forth. He started finding his testimony and realizing what he truly wanted from life.
