James E. Simmons is an associate in the Tallahassee office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A., where he practices in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice, and nursing home defense litigation. Previously, Mr. Simmons was an assistant general counsel with the Department of Financial Services in Tallahassee, Florida, where he handled insurance related matters, including prosecuting cases regarding licensing, unauthorized public adjusting, and unfair business practices. Mr. Simmons received his Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law in 2010 and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2006. During law school, he served as editor of the FAMU Law Review. He was also the President of the Student Bar Association, active in the law school community, and active in the greater Orlando community in various service projects.
