The Story of the Mikado is based on one of the many fantastic operettas written by renowned duo Gilbert and Sullivan. During their 25 year partnership the pair wrote 14 comic operas, The Mikado being one of their most popular shows, performed worldwide since its first appearance in 1885. Set in Japan, the story follows the young love of Nanki-Poo and Yum-Yum and the troubles they face trying to be with one another.
