Encounters with Jesus — It’s Not How We Start but How We Finish that Matters • Peter at times demonstrated extraordinary faith in Jesus. [Matthew 14:22-32, 16:13-20] • Peter also was susceptible to the pitfalls of pride. [Matthew 16:21-23, John 18:1-11] • Peter eventually was publicly ashamed of Christ and failed his closest friend. [Matthew 26:69-75] • Peter ultimately was restored to Jesus and finished his race as a faithful servant of God. [John 21:15-19] As We Go … No matter how your journey of faith started or how far off track you may be, keep the faith, fight the good fight and finish well!

Encounters with Jesus — Jesus Runs with a Rough Crowd — Luke 5:27-31 •Jesus didn’t wait for the lost to come to Him but intentionally initiated relationships with the rough crowd. [Luke 5:27-28] •Jesus sat with sinners, but He didn’t sin with them. Know the difference. [Luke 5:29-30] •Jesus spent most of His time pursuing the poor in spirit instead of wasting time on the proud and self righteous. [Luke 5:31] • As We Go … Be willing to reach the rough crowd by initiating relationships and consistently demonstrating the love of Christ in practical ways.

Encounters with Jesus — Love Changes Everything • Jesus knows everything about us and loves us anyway. [John 1:43-51] • Jesus loves us too much to leave us where we are. [Luke 5:7-11] • Jesus calls us to follow Him as fishers of men. [Luke 5:7-11] As We Go … Come to Jesus and allow His perfect love to set you free from shame and condemnation and change your life forever.

God Gave Everything Genesis 22 The Father was willing to give everything for you and me. [Genesis 22:1-5] Jesus was willing to lay down His life for sinners like you and me. [Genesis 22:6-10] We can trust the Living God to continue to provide for us both now and forevermore. [Genesis 22:11-19] As We Go… God has already given you everything. Trust Him to provide everything you need both now and forever.

Leave the World Behind and Never Look Back — Genesis 19 • Like Lot, we live in the midst of a perverse and wicked generation. • Like Lot, God is calling us to come out of this wicked world system and be set apart as His people. • God always provides a way of escape when we face the various temptations of life. • Once we choose to take hold of Christ, we must be willing to leave the world behind and never look back! As We Go… Leave the past behind, take hold of Christ today, and never look back!
