Beer & Tall Buildings
21/10/2011 Duração: 19minRAMageddon REDUX It's been 5 months since the airing of our technological singularity episode, and the advances have been rolling in at an exponential rate, just as the futurists predicted they would: researchers at Northwestern University have developed circuit boards that would allow computers to essentially rewire themselves to meet their ever-growing demands; the company Narrative Science has been busy hammering out computer-generated sports reports with ever increasing accuracy; and now there’s Siri, the iPhone 4S' voice app, who’s making small talk about everything from the weather to the meaning of life. The end sounds increasingly near...and awesome. So let's take a listen back at Episode 006: RAMageddon.

Beer & Tall Buildings
14/10/2011 Duração: 11minEpisode 026: AxS and Allies What's good for the goose isn't always good for the gander...such is Beer & Tall Buildings’ relationship with performance art. Last week we ran over to the Steve Roden curated "Ignite / Flow" performance at Art Center's Wind Tunnel. This was just one of an awesome array of art meets science events happening throughout Pasadena as part of the city's biennial AxS Festival taking place until October 16. Nukes, melting icecaps, spaceships, wildfires...the subject matter of AxS is a post-apocalyptian's dream. And the work is largely worth taking a chance on. Check it out at axsfestival.org.
