Rev. Anthony L. Barnes was born and raised in Washington, D.C., where he attended the District of Columbia Public Schools. Anthony is a graduate of H.D. Woodson High School. He was very active in sports and a member of the varsity basketball team. Anthony was also a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After graduating from high school, he attended Bladensburg Barber School where he became a Master Barber. Rev. Anthony has been a barber for 18 years and is the owner and operator of “All Things ‘N Common Barber Shop” in Oxon Hill Maryland. He is a member of the Tree of Life Christian Ministries, where he was ordained as an Elder in January 2004, and as a Minister in March 2007. He was appointed to head the Teen ministry with his wife Katrina assisting him.  Rev. Anthony is a man of integrity and he loves the Lord. Fire and Rescue talks about his faith, family, and business.  I have observed first hand what the rigors of this profession can do to your body. This is definitely a rewarding field that requires you to be in shape at all times. As I approached my mid forties I observed my waistline spreading a little further than I wanted it to and my energy level slowing down. I first was introduced to the P90X program in Dec of 2008 by a co worker who I had not seen in months and was impressed and blown away by what I saw. She told me about the program and that it happened in just 90 days...just 3 months!!! I took a look at the infomercial and website again and said "if Tony Horton can kick it into gear at age 46 then so can I!" I began the program in March of 2009 and the rest is history. I've lost 26 lbs.,reduced my waistline from 36 to 30 inches and feel fantastic!!! This has also helped me regulate my blood

Fire and Rescue Department and Diamond Beachbody Coach With a heart for youth, he served as a youth group coordinator and retreat facilitator for a DC-based Christian youth program. The impact of these retreats was times where he truly felt God calling him to reevaluate his walk and faith and challenged him to develop a more personal relationship with him. In August 1992, he exchanged vows with his beautiful wife, Treva, who has been his soul mate, companion and friend. They have been blessed with two wonderful daughters, Summer and Riley. The family joined the Tree of Life Christian Ministries in the summer of 1995. I wrote this mission statement for my life 15 years ago and in review, it has not changed.  My heart is turned strongly toward evangelism.  I want to use all my God-given gifts in music, drama, counseling and administration to evangelize a lost and dying world.   I know that God called me back to the east coast and that it is part of His plan for my life.  Through much suffering I have learned to be content in all things, to persevere, and to love through reaching out with much compassion to those that are hurting.  One of the greatest lessons learned is of God's faithfulness…He has never left me nor forsaken me in all my circumstances.  When Christians Speak Radio Broadcast show are on Thursday @ 12noon with Pat Randall, Friday @7 pm and Sunday @ 5 pm.
