Deliveroo is seeking a valuation of between £7.6bn and £8.8bn when it lists its shares on the London stock market. The government is to cut grants aimed at encouraging people to buy electric vehicles in a move that has been criticised by the motor industry. The Department for Transport will reduce the grant from £3,000 to £2,500 and restrict it to cars under £35,000.

The UK government is facing questions over coronavirus vaccine supply after warnings of a significant reduction. It is understood a delivery of millions of doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab, produced by the Serum Institute of India, has been held up by four weeks but the Department of Health insists it is still on track to offer a first dose to all adults by the end of July.

Vaccine safety experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) are meeting on Tuesday to review the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab, after several European countries halted their roll-outs. President Joe Biden's $1.9tn (£1.4tn) relief bill to help Americans deal with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has cleared its final hurdle in Congress. The final bill includes one-off direct payments worth $1,400 to be sent off to most Americans, extends weekly jobless benefit payments of $300 until September and also allocates $350bn to state and local governments.
