29/04/2016 Duração: 53minSarah and co-host Molly Williams sit down for a special episode to talk with Sarah’s coach, Briana Boehmer, about the 2016 Boston Marathon. This is the first conversation between Sarah and Coach Briana after Sarah completed the 26.2-mile race, and you get to listen in! Briana sheds light on the heat, hills, and sprint to the finish thanks to the wonders of GPS technology—and Sarah is rapt hearing the insight. Amby and Ellison bond over having androgynous names, then he muses on why Kathrine Switzer is mistakenly thought to be the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon. He talks about the risk for new runners to do too much, too soon, offering the reminder, “big progress in running comes from slow, incremental steps.” When he utters the sentence, “running is constantly about beginning again,” Amby earns a mother runner stripe. #201: Best-of Another Mother Runner Podcast, Part 2
11/03/2016 Duração: 01h21minThere have been so many anecdotes shared, advice imparted, and laughter snorted over the last 100 episodes of AMR podcast, Sarah and Dimity had to do two best-of shows. In this episode, a plus-size runner tells how she is crusading to take ownership of the word “fat.” Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton shares how her mania and depression lead her down “a very dangerous path,” and leads by example to banish the stigma of mental illness. Coach Christine gives great advice on how to clip those frustrating final seconds (or minutes) off a time goal, while time-management coach Jill Farmer tells why there really isn’t one “right time” to take on a challenge. The show ends with a standout tale from each mother runner. No wonder this episode is one of the longest ones ever! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

#200: 200th Episode Best-of Another Mother Runner Podcast, Part 1

26/02/2016 Duração: 01h05minSarah and her running partner, Molly Williams, welcome Leigh-Anne Zavalick, the gal at Saucony (our fav running brand!) in charge of women’s apparel. Then Sarah dives into grilling Leigh-Anne about everything from layering to reflective technology, as well as the surging popularity of capris. Leigh-Anne opines about how running apparel has changed as women switch from wearing it for an hour a day to all day. A lover of TMI on par with Sarah, Leigh-Anne talks about why and when to have a “no-panty party.” The guest, a first-time mom-to-be, says why a sports bra is, “a piece of equipment, not a piece of apparel,” and explains the shelf-life of your over-the-shoulder boulder-holder. After listening, we suspect you, too, will start using the word “lifestyle” as an adjective or perhaps work the word “athleisure” into casual conversation. Learn more about your ad choices.
