According to WebMD, disenfranchised grief is when your grieving doesn't fit in with your larger society's attitude about dealing with death and loss, thus minimizing or not acknowledging that the grief does indeed exist. The lessons are bountiful as the teachers discuss the many ways grief has shown up in their lives and how they analyze and cope with accepting grief.
