Jackman Raps is a poetic soul that found his calling in music. A few years ago, he had a near-death experience that inspired a sense of urgency within. Ever since, he's been applying pressure on an unprecedented level. The melodies this man conjures up are downright inspirational. We need more positive, uplifting energy within the atmosphere of hip-hop if we want to reshape our surroundings. In that sense, Jackman Raps is like a glimpse of the future. ❤️

I met him as an employee of the Flint Local 432 and he always went above and beyond his duties for any given show. This is because Eli believes in the power of potential. He sees what local musicians have to offer in a way that others might not. Learn from this. Lead by example.

Jace and I have known each other for quite some time! You could say one this was a long time in the making. Michael is a good friend of mine and a big fan of the podcast! I was delighted to bring him into the studio for a conversation between companions; an honest interaction. While it is a blast bringing in numerous creators and musicians, it's a nice change of pace to just have a simple friendly chat.  Michael has a deep interest in 'Dungeons & Dragons' & voice acting, which play into one another nicely. We discuss the basics of D&D, what he loves about it, how to make a character, & even begin a small campaign! As always, thank you for tuning in. ♥

'MealeoStone Visuals' is a name that has been picking up more and more traction every single day. With 16 music videos released in January and 10 collaborations with budding Flint musician YSR Gramz, the consistency in the work on display here is impenetrable.  Being someone who works in video myself, it's refreshing to hear someone speak the language. This is why I'm so impressed by his output. Editing can be a time-consuming process that would turn most away. True commitment is required 24/7 if one wants to have a constant output in this field. With a goal of 300 videos this year, it's safe to say that MealeoStone Visuals is on the way up.

Gozza is a mid-Michigan hip-hop artist keeping the old school sound alive. His latest project, 'Black Vinyl', is a shining example of this, featuring a grimy boom bap sound that would fit right in if we flew back to the mid-90s. His sample-based production is a product of his upbringing, as well as his vast knowledge of Flint hip-hop. I would love to have him back in the studio to dive even deeper into some of these artists and what each of them represent to the city. It's not common to find someone so dedicated to the craft for no reason other than genuine love for the art. It makes for a pure discussion. You can listen to 'Gozza Strip Radio' on Fridays, 3:30 - 5:30 P.M. EST! This is where he curates a collection of local tunes to highlight. Anyone from the area can send in their radio edits and get featured. This is just part of Gozza's effort to share local talent beyond the few names you might expect. Shawny Neubecker is an abundantly compassionate individual with infinite love to share. Her entire adult life has been focused on providing value to individuals who are in need. 'True Heart Project' is the latest example of this! I expected that, for the podcast, we would talk about the individuals she has met through 'True Heart Project' and how the organization came together. Instead, we went far deeper and touched on the very values that drive both of us in our individual quests for universal acceptance. ALLEY has been on my radar for almost two years now! It was a pleasure finally getting him into the Ruse Stu. In these two short hours, we talk about our approaches to songwriting, local artists we admire, the ups-and-downs of working by yourself, and much more. This man's music is unlike anything in the hip-hop scene. With such a massive collection to choose from, that truly does say a lot. You can't know what to expect when approaching his music. There isn't enough of that type of creativity in the atmosphere. Let's fix that.

In the longest installment of 'Ruse Radio' to date, Kane Da Gr8 leads me through these 3 hours with ease. I'll often find that, even though I don't follow an outline or structure, I have to lead each guest throughout the conversation in order to keep things moving. It's what any good host would do. This time, however, I was able to sit back and allow things to flow. It created such an organic atmosphere and I only have Kane to thank for being so open to explore ideas.

Arriving to his second appearance on 'Ruse Radio', we welcome Vaughn Lambo into the Ruse Stu with open arms. ♥ Every time Vaughn and I get together, we end up having a deep, conceptual conversation with whatever topics we explore. Lambo is blessed with the ability to express his unique mindset in an eloquent fashion while giving you enough room to think around the words. Some might call it the 'gift of gab'. Within moments after his arrival, Jay and I had already started clicking. There is something special about looking out into the world and seeing reflections of yourself in different shapes and forms. Everyone seems to be the same yet so different and, with that, comes the greatest of conversations. Jay has a unique and responsive outlook to the world that is both empathetic and independent. Respect.
