Was I called to the WRONG mission??
24/08/2020 Duração: 21minIn the Church of Jesus Christ (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), young adults are called to serve full-time missions. A member who chooses to serve will submit an application with no knowledge as to where in the world they will go. The leaders of the Church then determine where the person will go based on the need of missionaries in different areas and on inspiration. HOWEVER. Culturally in the Church of Jesus Christ, it is believed that the mission to which you are going is the exact mission for you. So when missions change due to the inability to obtain a visa or other reasons, are you no longer where you are "supposed to be?" In this episode, the hosts talk about their mission experiences and opinions as to whether or not there is a "correct" mission. Do you currently suffer from a mental illness that gets in the way of your every day life? Do you feel like an untreated mental illness can make it more difficult to feel God’s Influence? In this episode, Kwaku, Justin, Mimi, and our guest Sabrina talk about the struggles of anxiety and it’s effects on daily life. “One day I just woke up and I felt like me again!” For years, Sabrina tried to deal with anxiety on her own until a friend helped her that God will help her as she uses her resources like modern day medicine. Elder Holland said, “if you had appendicitis, God would expect you to seek a priesthood blessing and get the best medical care available. So too with emotional disorders. Our Father in Heaven expects us to use all of the marvelous gifts He has provided in this glorious dispensation.” “It’s not in people’s control.” Sabrina goes on to explain that anxiety and the

And what would prevent you from getting married in the temple? There are things in our life, our family, our persona, etc that just don't fit the mold of perfection. Why do I have to work so hard to understand simple concepts? Why do I feel differently than my family about particular topics? Why is it so hard to shake my addiction? Why am I depressed when I want to be whole? There are so many ways in which we feel broken and guess what. IT'S OKAY. You don't have to fit any mold. Everyone is going through something and your trial is as valid as any other. Ganel-Lyn mentions the suicide of her sister and says that no matter what you are going through, STAY. Stay on earth. You are needed and you are loved. The REAL Problem with Alcohol...
05/08/2020 Duração: 09minIn the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church or the LDS Church), members are encouraged to refrain from alcohol. But can they sell alcohol? Can they work somewhere that sells alcohol? Can they cook with alcohol, assuming it 'cooks out'? The health code in the Church of Jesus Christ is called the Word of Wisdom and is found in the Doctrine and Covenants, section 89. Kwaku and David discuss alcohol specifically and how refraining from the consumption of alcohol is very important in obeying God's command. However, if you feel trapped by an addiction to alcohol or another substance, you aren't too far from Christ's atonement. Speak to a therapist, attend classes, do what it takes to regain control of your life. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/saintsunscripted

Are Mormon Children BRAINWASHED??
03/08/2020 Duração: 09minJustin has been a member of 3 Mormons for awhile now and has been a member of the LDS Church for even longer ;) In this episode, Justin talks about his conversion story. In the Mormon Church, we often refer to being 'converted' as something only for people who weren't members of the church before. However, anyone who claims to believe a certain religion must first know if it is true for their self. They must come to an understanding, no matter how many years they've been in the religion. Justin talks about how he grew up in a Mormon family (both of his parents were mormon as well as his siblings) but yet he still had to experience what was true and what was false. He had to decide if each of the things he was claiming were right were truly right. So he went through a process of learning and obeying til he eventually just knew it was all true. What is Mormon Culture?
31/07/2020 Duração: 11minWhat is Mormon culture? Is it strictly Utah culture or does it apply to all Mormons? When it comes to the negative elements of Mormon culture, it is disappointing because it detracts from the gospel of Jesus Christ. One characteristic that is ascribed to Mormon culture is frequent judging. Judging unrighteously is NOT taught in nor endorsed by the Mormon church, though it frequently happens. We should not be perpetuating negative Mormon culture. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/saintsunscripted

Is Interfaith Possible Among Christians?
29/07/2020 Duração: 15minThere are many, many families whose members represent different religious beliefs. There are also some who have left the Mormon religion to join another religious sect but have been deeply judged for their change. Today we invited Jaxon Washburn on the show to talk about interfaith, specifically in regards to the Mormon religion. Jaxon is well-known among Mormon millennials for his well-thought opinions and beliefs. He represents a large portion of millennials who perhaps don't align with mainstream Mormonism but are still faithful, active members of the LDS Church. Jaxon shares a personal experience about his mom who left the Mormon Church and how to this day, he continues to regard her as a great example of courage and devotion. Kwaku and Justin comment that though they know that the restoration of the gospel is true and incredibly important, Mormons must make a greater effort to love those who have left the LDS Church and those who have decided not to join the LDS Church. People Who Saw the ORIGINAL Book of Mormon!
27/07/2020 Duração: 09minOn September 22nd, 1827, Joseph Smith retrieved the golden plates that were later translated into the Book of Mormon. There are many people outside of the LDS Church who wonder if Joseph Smith was the only person who saw the golden plates, considering his frequent concealing of the plates. Also, Kwaku mentions an episode in South Park stating something like, "Joseph Smith had the golden plates even though nobody else ever saw them," which has further confused this notion of only Joseph seeing the golden plates. We know from the first few pages into the Book of Mormon that there were at least 11 witnesses to the golden plates, besides Joseph Smith. Can I go into a Mormon Temple??
24/07/2020 Duração: 08minThe answer is YES! And no… here’s the scoop. Whenever a temple is built in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), there is a period of time that the temple is open to the public. However, a few months after the temple is finished, the temple undergoes a "dedication" in which the temple is dedicated to God and can no longer be open to the public. The dedication is broadcasted throughout the temple's region has the simple format of a prayer, song, a few talks, and a dedicatory prayer. Biblical evidence of the Book of Mormon?!
21/07/2020 Duração: 12minIn this video, we talk about one of the most asked-for yet one of the most controversial topics yet... Is there evidence for the Book of Mormon in the Bible? Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as Mormons) often emphasize their belief in the Book of Mormon. However, members of the Church also believe in the Bible to be sacred text, just like the Book of Mormon. Both are regarded as companions in teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible was written in one part of the world and the Book of Mormon in another. But both are clear testaments of Jesus Christ. (If you are unsure and want to read the Book of Mormon, send us a DM on Instagram and we'll send you a book:)) Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/saintsunscripted

What are angels and can I see them?
15/07/2020 Duração: 12minIt turns out that this episode has more controversy than we thought before filming! Justin, David, and Kwaku talk about angels: their purpose, what they might look like, and when they appear. Are angels evil? Could an angel appear to you? Do angels have wings? We believe that angels are everywhere. We believe that God sends angels to earth under his direction to instruct. This is found both in the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. We also believe that angels still appear today, not just in biblical times. Joseph Smith saw an angel and we don't doubt that others have seen angels as well. Justin says, “As long as people that need to be saved, God will be sending angels… to give us a sense of comfort.” Angels are just that!! To give comfort and instruct.
