When tragedy strikes, similar to that which occurred in Haiti, the first thing we must do, without a doubt, is sow into the people and resources responsible for the recovery of that region, but after that, we must take a look at ourselves to see what more we must do for those in our circle of influence. We will never be able to explain why disaster happens, but when it does, woe unto us if we let this season pass without taking time for intercession and introspection to hear from the Lord exactly what we should be doing for our communities. When we become less inwardly focused and more outwardly oriented, we tap into the new profile of prosperity, which is governed by God's law of economy: when you give, you get.

Of all the five senses, the sense of sight is the most fascinating because it must be relearned and retrained on a daily basis, especially after having gone years without being able to see, similar to the blind man whom Jesus healed. Jesus not only restored his sight, but, in telling him to look again, he also gave the man vision, a vision necessary to see the world differently than he had ever seen it before. Just like with the blind man, Jesus is calling us to a higher level of living that's going require us to have not just sight, but vision. He's asking us, "Do you see what I see?" (Mark 8:22-26)

2009 was a long, arduous, and very lean year for many of us, but all the pain of the previous year was all worth it because it helped produce the creative anointing that will fulfill your success this year. An analysis of the biblical significance of numbers and their connection to the events of this decade, coupled with scriptural examples, will encourage you to remember that all the pain of your yester-year was all worth it for your future success!

The Christmas holiday is both very familiar and extremely important to most people for various reasons, but how familiar are we with the actual Christmas story? As we have been learning is true with the entire word of God, the story of Christmas did not begin in Matthew and does indeed involve all of scripture. As we learn more about how multiple scriptures point to Christ's birth and about how various details surrounding the birth point to various modern Christmas traditions, our appreciation for the story of Christ will be further enhanced.

The church that follows the blueprint of Christ looks like Jesus, walks like Jesus, and talks like Jesus. Very simply, the church of Christ imitates Jesus in every way possible. Jesus introduced Himself to the world and announced the start of His ministry by reading the words of Isaiah's prophecy because they embodied everything Jesus was going to do in His earthly ministry. We have no better example of how to become Jesus Christ look-alikes than the words prophesied of Christ in Isaiah 61. Being like Jesus and truly making an impact on this dying world requires doing something!

The Bible, although comprised of two different, seemingly disconnected testaments, presents, in its entirety, a unified story of human good and evil, pleasure and pain, strength and frailty, triumph and failure, which undeniably points to the overwhelming need for a Savior. Various things have been believed about Who Jesus was and is, why He came to the earth, and what He was sent here to do, and the word of God speaks to all of those issues. Exactly what the Bible speaks to about Jesus throughout all of eternity is not altogether clear in the minds of many, however. It is therefore necessary to examine the life, testimony, witness, and work of Christ in the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, to derive a full appreciation for the story of Christ in all of humanity, as well as a wonderful appreciation for the difference Jesus has made throughout human life. The church that follows the blueprint of Christ invites people from all walks of life to the table. Even though Jesus was the most hospitable, welcoming, and accepting person having ever walked this earth, Christianity has had a grim and unfortunate history of committing horrible crimes in the name of Jesus, thereby keeping people away from the table. If we are truly serious about drawing people to the faith, then we need to be equally serious about following Christ's example by coming out of our bubble, reaching out to the misfits of society, and inviting them to the table, which is open for each and everyone of us.

The church that follows the blueprint of Christ knows how to properly handle the blessings of God. So many things can happen in the life of a church that can get us down, but when we commit ourselves to taking life in stride and seeking the lessons God would have us from the good and bad times in our lives, we will become better, more resilient people. We properly handle the blessings of God, regardless of how they are packaged, because we've been there before and have learned our lessons from the storms of our lives. The process we go through to position ourselves for proper handling of God's blessings in the process of perfecting our praise.

The influence we have as believers in Christ should be powerful and widespread. For us as Christians to be so effective, we must conduct our daily affairs in light of the primary purpose of light, which is to provide vision, clarity, and understanding to otherwise dark situations. In other words, light makes a difference. We must make a difference wherever the Lord plants us so that we can bring glory to God and souls to the kingdom. The church that follows the blueprint of Christ lets its light shine and influences those around it.

People seem to want to talk about everything and gossip about everybody outside of the church, but inside the church, no one wants to talk about any issues because of the fear of intense judgment and condemnation from "church folk". If we can't talk candidly in church about the life-or-death issues that really matter to people, then where can we really talk about them, and where can we hope to find our deliverance? What is the true Christian Church supposed to look like?
