How do you define success? Many in the world would list money, fame or power.  But today we’ll notice what the marks of a successful person really are, by utilizing our Lord’s standards. In Matthew chapter five, verse thirteen, Jesus used a simple analogy to teach us how to make an impact, and a difference in the world. By paying close attention, you’ll discover valuable instruction on how to be influential and beneficial. 

Light enhances the detail of the things around us. While delivering His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus likened the Christian to light, and salt. We’ll see how we can be salt to a world desperate for some good seasoning! 

The truth is that Christians today experience persecution of varying degrees. And yet the message from the Bible is that we should rejoice and be exceedingly glad in the light of it. Welcome once again to Bridging the Gap with Pastor Lloyd Pulley, where today we’ll wrap up our detailed examination of the beatitudes. Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll examine this “peace” that Spafford spoke of and we’ll learn that “peace” isn’t just a platitude - but it is possible through Christ. Pastor Lloyd Pulley is investigating the beatitude, “Blessed are the Peacemakers” today.

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley will offer the proper prescription for a lack of peace. Pastor Lloyd is currently teaching us from the beatitudes, as part of his study of the Sermon on the Mount. We’ll be in Matthew chapter five and verse nine today, where we read, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”

The Bible states that Man tends to look at the outward appearance of an individual, but God goes much deeper than that. He looks at the heart, and desires His children to be pure in heart. Lloyd Pulley will explain here today on Bridging the Gap as we continue to look at the beatitudes, at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount.  Today, Lloyd returns to what Jesus had to say about being pure in heart. You’ll be asked to consider the shape of your heart on Bridging the Gap, as Lloyd Pulley resumes his study of the beatitudes. Today Lloyd examines the beatitude, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God”. You’ll find it in Matthew chapter five in verse eight.

Lloyd Pulley is our Bible teacher, and today he continues his study of the beatitudes, found in Matthew chapter five. These powerful verses give us God’s pattern for happy living. One of the characteristics of Kingdom Dwellers is mercy. Lloyd will suggest today four ways that mercy is demonstrated.

Today on Bridging the Gap, we continue our series in the beatitudes with a study on the topic of mercy. We’ll see the meaning of mercy, and how it is shown, as we look at Matthew five, verse seven. A lot of people get mercy confused with justice and that’s sad, because they are two very different things!

At the moment of our conversion, the Holy Spirit begins to create a hunger and a thirst for righteousness. Today on Bridging the Gap, we continue Lloyd’s series based on the beatitudes, and we’ll take a look at what Jesus had to say on the subject of spiritual hunger and thirst.

We’ve been examining the beatitudes for the past few days, and today we’ll note that the meek will be blessed, and they will inherit the earth. As pastor Lloyd has mentioned many times, meekness has been completely misunderstood as equaling weakness.

I know it sounds like a pure contradiction, but, in God’s kingdom at least, the more meek you are, the greater your strength! As Christians we should have a daily goal to be more like Christ - a perfect example of the power of meekness. Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll see how we can be more like Christ as Pastor Lloyd Pulley defines meekness for us and then point to a few of God’s people who displayed this trait.

Today on Bridging the Gap, Lloyd Pulley shows us that being poor in spirit will lead us to sorrow over our condition. That sorrow in turn will drive us to God, to turn from sin and repent. Repentance seems to be an unpopular concept in our day.

Today on Bridging the Gap with pastor Lloyd Pulley, we continue our series based on the first twelve verses of Matthew chapter five, also known as the beatitudes.  And as we’ll soon see, God’s prescription for happiness is much different than the world’s prescription.  With the second beatitude, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted,”

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll notice the first qualification for entrance into God’s Kingdom...becoming “poor in spirit.” Pastor Lloyd Pulley just recently started a series based on the Sermon on the Mount, and on today’s broadcast we’ll observe one of the marks of a true believer - humility.

Last time, Lloyd kicked off a series based on the first twelve verses of Matthew chapter five, known as the Beatitudes. We’re quickly noticing that it is a timeless message with outstanding instruction on how we are to live as Christians.

Today on the Bridging the Gap, Pastor Lloyd Pulley will begin a detailed examination of the first twelve verses of the Sermon on the Mount, known as the Beatitudes. “Blessed are” can be translated to mean “happy are”, so what we’re really exploring here is the road to true and lasting happiness. Anyone can find temporary happiness in certain things, but lasting happiness? Only God has the answer! 

Back in Jesus’ day, as His arrest and crucifixion was nearing, Jesus had a conversation with some of His disciples. They had been told by Jesus that He would someday return, and that sparked a lot of question, including “How will we know when that time is near?” Today’s message marks the conclusion of pastor Lloyd’s mini-series titled, “Personal Encounters with Jesus”.
