Bridging The Gap

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll continue pastor Lloyd Pulley’s series in Genesis, titled “Foundations”. Marriage was one of the first things God made after He created Adam and Eve, so anyone who thinks marriage is not relevant today is absolutely wrong. God desires that we make our marriages as complete as we can, and He wants to be at the very center of that relationship. 

Pastor Lloyd and his wife Karen have been married for for decades, but Lloyd will tell you that they never stop learning new ways to improve their relationship. Marriage is an ongoing project - and God intended it that way! Today we’ll continue looking at God’s blueprint for marriage, as we study Genesis chapter two, verses twenty-four and twenty-five.

Today’s message will focus on one of God’s greatest inventions - marriage. God designed marriage as a reflection of His own relationship with us in many ways. When you think about it that way, it makes marriage seem like quite a challenge! It IS!!!! But that doesn’t mean we should shy away from making our marriages everything God intended them to be. We’re using Genesis chapter two as our reference point today. 

Last time, pastor Lloyd Pulley shared from Genesis two, and how God created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. Today, we will continue looking at that creation.  Men and women are different, to be sure, but why are they different, and where do those differences begin and end? Well, God knew what He was doing, so let’s pay close attention to today’s look at the creation of man and woman.

Today on the program we’ll consider something that most of us would readily agree with - men and women are different. Very different! Seems like something so obvious it doesn’t need to be discussed, but let’s consider this - why did God make men and women the way He made them? The answer to that question illustrates what a wonderful and thoughtful God we worship.

Last time, we begin a special message Lloyd shared concerning the current situation in the middle east and how it fits into biblical prophecy. There is much confusion concerning exactly what’s going on, and who is to blame, and it is certainly troubling to see so many people taking the side of terrorists, but Lloyd will steer us toward what God’s word has to say, and where ultimately all of this fits into what God’s word says will take place in there end times. There is a lot of misinformation being shared about what is actually going on, and Lloyd will share some historical facts and biblical prophecy to explain exactly where it all fits into the end times we are living in. We’ll begin in First Timothy chapter four. 

We are in the midst of an exciting and edifying journey through the first eleven chapters of Genesis - a series pastor Lloyd has titled “The Foundations”. As we continue in chapter two today, we continue to see God’s creative genius at work as He creates man, and then creates a place for man to dwell.

Today on Bridging the Gap we resume our series titled “The Foundations”.  It’s based on the first eleven chapters of Genesis, and we’ve reached the point of creation where God created mankind.

Today we bring you another message from Lloyd’s series in there first eleven chapters of Genesis, titled “The Foundations”. We’ll be looking at the end of chapter one, and the beginning of chapter two. It’s here that we read one of the most important truths mankind needs to know - we were made in God’s image. 

Genesis has been rightly called the book of beginnings, as it reveals the beginning of everything - except for God of course. The bible makes no attempt to prove His existence, for that truth is self evident. As the Psalmist said, the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies show His handy work. What a glorious work God has done - how great is our God!  And for you - He made the sky, the oceans, the trees, the animals and in such abundance and variety.

Genesis chapter one tells of our beginnings, and it’s all about God.  God is the primary cause because He planned it, He is the instrumental cause because He produced it, and He is the final cause because He did it for His own glory.  That comes shining through as we study Genesis one starting with verse three.

Today on Bridging the Gap we continue the story of Creation, and have arrived at day five.  Since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities; His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. On today’s program we reach day five in God’s creation project. If you love animals, and love studying the amazing number of creatures that crawl, walk, run and fly around our planet, then today’s message is for you.

The truth of God’s word has been challenged from the very beginning. Today is no different.  But it’s tragic to see even those within the Church question the veracity of the word of God.  And when it comes to the book of Genesis - the attacks are the fiercest.  No doubt it’s because - if the foundation can be undermined then the rest of the structure will crumble.  Well today on Bridging the Gap, we go on the offensive through a study of Genesis one! 

Maybe like a lot of people you’re wondering how in the world we got here?  Was there some sort of an explosion caused by random chance that sprung creation into existence or is there a creator behind it all?  Well you’re not likely to get the right answer by opening the science books being read in the public schools, but you will by turning to Genesis chapter one! It has the answer we’re looking for, and we’d invite you to join us there as we return to pastor Lloyd. 

It’s good to remind ourselves of the kind of God we pray to.  He is the creator. He spoke - then out of nothing He made the heaven and the earth.  He made everything and He’s holding it all together. That’s comforting! We’ll explore this great truth in more detail today as pastors Lloyd continues his new series titled “The Foundations”.

Over the next several weeks, pastor Lloyd will go in depth in these important chapters to show us God’s plan from the beginning of man, and God’s amazing creativity.

Getting an answer to your prayer is not difficult. Accepting the answer…. well, sometimes that’s not so easy. Prayer is a powerful weapon in our daily battle with satan. Today we conclude Lloyd’s series on spiritual warfare, based in Ephesians chapter six. Today’s message is titled “Prayer to Make a Difference”.

Today on Bridging the Gap, we continue our study of Ephesians six, with the final piece of our spiritual armor - prayer.  Our teacher is pastor Lloyd Pulley, and he will remind us today that prayer is a wonderful gift from God - and responsibility for every believer.
