Bridging The Gap

With Christmas Day just six days away, we will continue a special week of Christmas messages today. What better time of year to learn about who Jesus was, who He is, and who He will always be! If you read the newspaper or watch the news on TV, you know all about the recent trend of taking Christ’s name out of the celebration this time of year. Well, it doesn’t really matter who calls it “the Holiday Season” or who calls it “Christmas” - Jesus Christ is still the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

We are going to begin a week of special Christmas messages today, as we prepare to Celebrate Christmas Day next week. Today pastor Lloyd will begin by talking about the prophetical foretelling of Christ’s birth. Why did God choose Bethlehem as the place? Lloyd will be taking us to several places in God’s word, but we will begin in the book of Micah, so find your place there as we bring you a message titled “Little Town of Bethlehem”.

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley will tackle the issue of Evolution head on as we continue our look at the great flood and Noah’s Ark. Secular science can’t hold a candle to the truths of the Bible - and they are PROVABLE truths as well!

One of the lessons we learn by studying the great flood is that God is serious about sin - and He does have an end to His patience. Those are important things to consider in the year 2023, even as we consider these events of thousands of years ago.

We’re studying the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis, and today we come to a story that’s familiar to every Christian. Noah’s Ark and the great flood were stories we learned in Sunday school and VBS, but what really took place and what the meaning really is may have been lost in all the excitement. Join us in Genesis chapter six as we join pastor Lloyd Pulley for a look at the great flood.

If you created something beautiful and someone came along and smashed it deliberately, how would you react? Well, when God created the earth, and all of the creatures on the earth, and then turned His beautiful creation over to Adam and Eve, they and their descendants messed the whole thing up. Let’s join pastor Lloyd now in Genesis chapter six and see what transpired in the days leading up to the great flood, when God finally had enough of mankind’s sin.

As we look at Genesis chapter six today, we are about to see God destroy everything through a worldwide flood, and pastor Lloyd is going to talk about some of the reasons why God did what He did. 

Lloyd is currently teaching from the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis and we’ll camp out in chapter five once again today.  If you’ll recall, this is where we find the first genealogy in the Bible.  And while we might be tempted to gloss over this section of Scripture, pastor Lloyd believes it to be highly relevant. You’ll see why as you study along!

Today on Bridging the Gap we bring you the Genealogy of Adam all the way to Jesus. And as you’ll see in a moment it’s quite a bit different than Cain’s Genealogy. As we look at this biblical family tree, we are reminded that God was in control of humanity from the very beginning! You’ll find today’s scripture in Genesis five

Pastor Lloyd Pulley is sharing a new series in Genesis titled “Foundations”, and we’ve come to Genesis chapter four and the descendants of Cain. There are remarkable similarities to our day today providing great insight to our dilemma. One of those descendants of Cain was a man names Lamech.

Evidence of the goodness of God is found in how gracious and patient He is towards those who reject Him. It’s surprising to see His response. Case in point - Cain!  We’ll hear his story today on Bridging the Gap with pastor Lloyd Pulley.

 In Genesis chapter four, we see the sad case of Cain - the first child born, and the poster boy for the folly of trying to lie to God. Cain was so jealous of his brother Abel, he killed him and then tried to cover up his wrongdoing. To help assure sin doesn’t have its way with us as it did Cain, let’s join pastor Lloyd Pulley.

Today we learn a valuable lesson from Genesis four-  there is one way to God and we had better come to Him on His terms - not ours. The story of Cain and Abel, and the sacrifices they brought to God, is what we’ll focus in on here today. 

Adam and Even certainly made their fair share of poor choices, and the result was judgment and The Curse.  But they weren’t left without hope, because the Messiah would come to forgive them and us of sin! 

For the last few weeks we’ve been in a series covering the first eleven chapters of Genesis. The series is called “Foundations”, and we’re spending a considerable amount of time right now in chapter three, which of course is where the fall of man and the curse are described for us.  We don’t want you to miss God’s message of grace, even in the midst of the curse.

Sin is so frequently portrayed today as enjoyable, exciting and fulfilling.  Rarely are we told of it’s consequences.  God wants the very best for us, and He knows that sin will destroy our lives, so throughout His Word He shows us what it will do to us.  Genesis chapter three is one of those places, and that’s where we join pastor Lloyd.

Today we will again be considering Genesis chapter three, and satan’s dealings with Eve.  The Devil’s first tactic was to tempt Eve to doubt the word of God. Now he’s going to try to get her to doubt the goodness of God.  Sound familiar?  He’s up to the same old tricks today isn’t he! 

When we see the atrocities being committed by terrorists in the middle east, and mass shootings here in America, do you ever wonder why mankind is so sinful? Where did this sin problem originate?  Even committed Christians find themselves asking that question.  Well, the problems of this world can be traced back to Genesis three, where sin entered the world.

Today on the program, pastor Lloyd Pulley continues his new series in Genesis chapters one through eleven, titled “Foundations”.  We will start a look at chapter three today - and it’s one of the most significant chapters in the entire word of God. When Eve was tempted by satan, and then Adam sinned, it spelled the end of perfection in the Garden of Eden, and the beginning of the problem that continues to plague mankind to this day - sin.
