Quantum Of Friendship

Informações:

Sinopse

Richard Drumm is a lifelong Bond fan. Jonathan Victory is not. Together they will watch and discuss each James Bond film. Join them on this journey from the socially regressive lows to the sassy Dench highs, from the sexy to the sexist, as one fanboy shows a fresh-eyed friend the adventures of 007 for the first time, finding filmmaking follies, famous fights with formidable villains, fiery flirtations with femme fatales, frivolous quips and balls hit with whips and maybe, along the way, they will learn a little something about friendship. .....Quantum of Friendship.

Episódios

  • Episode 5: Skyfall

    18/01/2016 Duração: 01h39min

This is the end. Richard Drumm and Jonathan Victory finally complete their first appraisal of the Craig era, reviewing the Oscar-winning, box-office behemoth Skyfall. Continuing their cataloguing of Daniel Craig's lapses into Martin Freeman, Judi Dench's pottymouth and Spectre's tentacles reaching into the plots of other movies, Richard once more upon the breach attempts his Christoph Waltz impression while Jonathan takes us through an unwanted playlist of irrelevant music including Alanis Morissette, The Velvet Underground and Limp Bizkit. Hail Britannia.

  • Episode 4: Quantum of Solace

    13/12/2015 Duração: 01h26min

What is the opposite of a quantum of solace? A colossal amount of anxiety? That's what Richard and Jonathan had as they watched Craig's second outing as 007 in Quantum of Solace. This movie has a bad rep for some reason; a strong Bond girl, an arthouse director, a cameraman with Parkinson's Disease - This movie seemed to have it all. Why did audiences react so negatively? Richard as a firm fan of this movie explores the context of the film's production, possible alternate theme songs and whether Judi Dench puts the M in BDSM. Jonathan, possibly intoxicated, tries to keep track of the snippets of story that occur between cuts from one shot to another. Their discussion becomes wide-ranging, cutting quickly from spoilers to tangents, including a speculation on what Christoph Waltz and others must look like while masturbating.

  • Episode 3: Spectre Part (Sey)Deux

    02/11/2015 Duração: 46min

Concluding their very long review of the very long Bond movie Spectre, Richard and Jonathan explore whether or not it retroactively ruins the Craig Era. Jonathan gets overly excited about his theory on the true identity of Léa Seydoux's character while Richard attempts to top Jonathan's Christoph Waltz impression only to end up sounding like Irish political journalist, Vincent Browne.

  • Episode 2: Spectre Part (M)One... ypenny

    29/10/2015 Duração: 44min

With the release of a brand new Bond movie, Quantum of Friendship skips ahead for a SPecial Episode for Counteracting and Tempering Richard's Enthusiasm. This latest 007 movie Spectre has been LONG-anticipated by Richard and seemingly the entire world except Jonathan. Having shared their excited Spectrulations before seeing it, they then have a LONG spoiler-filled discussion covering the LONG-take opening shot, Bond's LONGing for answers and the LONG-stretching tentacles of the shadowy Spectre organisation. While they criticise Spectre for its overly-LONG running time, this episode itself ran on quite LONG and will be split into two parts. For now, enjoy part one of their Spectre discussion and BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

  • Episode 1: Casino Royale

    15/10/2015 Duração: 59min

Richard Drumm and Jonathan Victory begin Quantum of Friendship with a look at "edgy reboot Bond" in Casino Royale. A relatively unproblematic entry in the Bond canon, Daniel Craig bursts through the dry wall of obscurity to take his place as 007. Richard gets frustrated by Jonathan's seeming inability to pay attention to basic storytelling while Jonathan is besotten with the raspy-voiced wonder of France's greatest export besides cowardice, Eva Green.

  • Episode Zero: "Even Kevin McClory Deserves An Origin Story"

    15/10/2015 Duração: 25min

A brief introductory episode to the world of Quantum of Friendship wherein Richard Drumm outlines the concept with Jonathan Victory. The format of this podcast shall see them watching one Bond film each episode, Jonathan being a newcomer and Richard being a fanboy. They shall bond over these 007 films but there shall be no James Bonding here, for copyright reasons. Just think of us as the Kevin McClory to James Bonding's Eon Productions.
