Reflection: Looking Backward and Foward and Still Knowing Life is Worth Living.
20/12/2016 Duração: 31minIt's hard to believe the year 2016 is coming to and end! It was an interesting year considering the good, not-so-good, and uncertainty. If we could predict the future, what would be in store for us and our loved ones – good health? a financial windfall? prosperity? We all know we cannot predict the future and material wealth and prosperity are not promised to us for personal gain. Join us Tuesday, December 20, at 3:30pm PST – to hear testimonies from two featured guests, Dewey Reddick and Debra L. Smith, as they reflect over this past year and share highlights of their personal journey. There is love, joy, peace and happiness to be gained when you know God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, is All-knowing (Omniscient), All-powerful (Omnipotent), and everywhere (Omnipresent). We can rest in His care and promises knowing He will never leave us nor forsake us no matter how difficult life is. Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. Celebrating the Advent Season: Preparing for the Coming of Christ.
06/12/2016 Duração: 20minAdvent is a season of preparation and waiting for the celebration of Jesus' birth at Christmas. The term advent is from the Latin translation of "coming." Its purpose is to look forward to the coming of Christ to Earth – the dawn of a new and better era. The Old Testament prophecies prepared the way for God's promises. The promise of the coming Messiah was fulfilled in the New Testament. This broadcast – Tuesday, December 6th at 3:30pm PST – will focus on celebrating the Advent of a new era. There are many many Bible passages, but our focus will be on Isaiah 9:2-7, 40:1-5; Micah 5:2-3; Luke 1:5-17, 2:1-20; Matthew 1:18-25. The weeks of Advent remind us to set aside some of the hectic busyness of the holiday season, and to reflect on the promise of the baby born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. Our Advent prayer is that God will prepare our hearts the way He prepared all of history to receive the gift of His Son. We ask for God the Father to cut away the distractions and make our life a place of warmth, ho

Exploring the blessings of a dedicated mother-in-law
22/11/2016 Duração: 17minDuring an earlier segment, we looked at the dynamic relationship between Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi. This broadcast --- Tuesday, November 22nd at 3:30 pm, PST --- will focus on Peter's mother-in-law, for further insight into the blessings a mother-in-law can bring her family. Too often, our society scorns mother-in-laws. At times, the negative descriptions are the result of actions that seem self-imposed and, perhaps, well deserved. Yet, these connotations have come to be the expected and, as such, are unfairly attached to far too many. Like every other relationship, a mother-in-law is one to work on and with. Although we do not know her name or much about her, Peter's mother-in-law and her relationships with those around her, including Jesus, will (hopefully) infuse us with renewed commitment to all of our relationships, beyond in-laws. * Mark 1:29-31 and Matthew 8: 14 - 15; Luke 4: 38 - 39 Hope 4 Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. Prayer: An invitation to talk with our creator - Part IV
08/11/2016 Duração: 17minPrayer is a privilege that God has granted to us. It is considered worship and speaks to the character of God. We worship God when we adore, confess, give thanks, praise and supplicate Him in prayer. It is our lifeline to Jesus, who has all power. Whenever we bring a heart of humility, He inclines His ear to listen to us. Just think, we can have a talk with Jesus at anytime, from anywhere, and for any reason; whether we thank Him, praise Him, ask Him for ourselves, or plead with Him on behalf of others. We can approach His throne room of grace by kneeling at the altar, bowing down along side our bed, driving in our car, retreating to our prayer closet, or sitting at our desk. The Lord is always near and waiting to hear from us, so He can respond! Join our podcast on Tuesday, November 8, at 3:30pm, PDT, as we continue our discussion on prayer. The theme of this segment will be thanksgiving. Hope 4 Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. Contact us by visiting our website at http:/

Turning hurts into chances of a lifetime
11/07/2016 Duração: 44minJoin us for a very special broadcast Monday, July 11th at 3pm. Our guest, Cheryl Conway, is a singer and lyricist from Washington, DC. Chance of a Lifetime, Cheryl's testimony song, attests to earlier years that were filled with turmoil and uncertainty. However, once she found Jesus, Cheryl says, "everything began to change!" She is now very happily married to the love of her life with two wonderful adult children. Her album represents a "wonderful seven-year journey of intimacy with the Lord, starting with the Holy Spirit’s commission to do a “Worship CD” in 2006, and culminating in the release of “It Is YOU!” in 2013." Over the years, Jesus has continually shown Himself faithful and very present in Cheryl’s life, and she expresses her gratitude by daily trying to walk in obedience to His wishes. Through an intimate relationship with the Lord, Cheryl has found great healing and freedom from the effects of past hurts. It is Cheryl’s great desire, through her music and other ministries, "that others

Learning to be content through the journey of life.
07/06/2016 Duração: 18minHello, everyone! We are back. Thank you for returning to the show and giving us a pass for our absence. Know that we've missed being here. The bottom line is that life just happens; whether we okay its circumstances or not. Our responsibility when it swerves, dips, crests, or levels, is to make choices. Out of both of our circumstances, during these past weeks, "life happened," culminating in the subject of today's podcast: Contentment. What is the meaning of contentment? Join us Tuesday, June 7th at 3:30, PST. Co-hosts Najja and Zenobia will define it, referencing events in their lives, under the microscopic standard of Truth, God's Word. Hope 4 Today is an outreach ministry of Yield to the King Ministry. Contact us by visiting our website at yieldtothekingministry.org.

Family Matters: The Number One Enemy of the Christian Family
19/04/2016 Duração: 16minThe Christian family has a unique role, by God's design. Based on today's standards, one might question that. Couples and their children are taking a closer look at what family life is meant to be and can be. Today, the battle for the family is evident! And, the family has become a target of humanism – the amoral, atheistic philosophy that pervades our whole culture. So the questions are, "How shall we go about protecting our home and our families? And what must we do?” We need to know what God intended and purposed for the family. Families have to be aware of and discern the influences that saturate our daily life – all those things that are contrary to God's Word. Then, once we know, believe and accept these, we can make a deliberate decision to live by God's standards. Our goal is to uncover the importance of the family and its role. We will discuss the number one enemy of the family. We will also examine the role of husband, wife, and children. And, lastly, we ask that you please pray with us about ho
