I am sure that all would agree no words can adequately describe the joy of the work of ministry!  No matter if you are an ordained clergy or a lay-minister, a response to God's calling on your life will require use of spiritual gifts, Bible intake, prayer, worship, evangelism, serving, stewardship, fasting, silence and solitude, journaling, learning, and perseverance in all spiritual disciplines. Our individual responsibility is to "...walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called..." (Ephesians 4:1). This Hope 4 Today podcast series will feature married couples who serve together within their congregation, community, and/or occupation. Advent is a season of preparation and waiting for the celebration of Jesus' birth at Christmas.  The term advent is from the Latin translation of "coming."  Its purpose is to look forward to the coming of Christ to Earth – the dawn of a new and better era.  The Old Testament prophecies prepared the way for God's promises.  The promise of the coming Messiah was fulfilled in the New Testament. This broadcast – Tuesday, December 6th at 3:30pm PST – will focus on celebrating the Advent of a new era. There are many many Bible passages, but our focus will be on Isaiah 9:2-7, 40:1-5; Micah 5:2-3; Luke 1:5-17, 2:1-20; Matthew 1:18-25. Prayer is a privilege that God has granted to us.  It is considered worship and speaks to the character of God.  We worship God when we adore, confess, give thanks, praise and supplicate Him in prayer. It is our lifeline to Jesus, who has all power. Whenever we bring a heart of humility, He inclines His ear to listen to us.  Just think, we can have a talk with Jesus at anytime, from anywhere, and for any reason; whether we thank Him, praise Him, ask Him for ourselves, or plead with Him on behalf of others.  We can approach His throne room of grace by kneeling at the altar, bowing down along side our bed, driving in our car, retreating to our prayer closet, or sitting at our desk.  The Lord is always near and waiting to hear from us, so He can respond! Hello, everyone! We are back.  Thank you for returning to the show and giving us a pass for our absence.  Know that we've missed being here. Families have to be aware of and discern the influences that saturate our daily life – all those things that are contrary to God's Word.
