The Christian family has a unique role, by God's design. Based on today's standards, one might question that. As 2015 draws to its close, we'd like to encourage you that the time is now, to remain steadfast.  If we focus on all that is going on in the world we can lose sight of who God is --how powerful, magnificent, and majestic He is!  Do you still believe that God is in control or that God is love? If we are to remain steadfast in our faith, simply and very boldly put –we must agree that right now is the time for people to hear and embrace the truth, the Word of God.  And, once we've heard the truth remain steadfast in our faith, walking in the truth that we've heard, know, and believe.  The Bible warns against false teachers and heresies, and reasons for that warning still exists today. Join us as we talk about and share personal applications based on The Book of Jude, verses 17-25.  This letter was written by Jude, one of Jesus Christ's brothers (Matt. 13:55; Mark 6:3).  Jude found it necessary to address apostasy in the early church and his message is considered one of the most severe in the New Testament.  J

Dreams are natural and everyone dreams. It is a normal part of our sleep cycle. To understand why we dream, it is important to understand a little about the sleep cycle. Sleep is how we rejuvenate and restore many of the body's functions. Sleep aids in memories, learning, moods and social behaviors, our immune and nervous systems, and growth and development. There are two types of sleep, NREM (non-REM) and REM. Non-REM sleep is divided into three stages, which include drowsiness, light sleep, and one stage of deep sleep. REM sleep is the stage in which we dream. We go through the stages of sleep several times during the night and as the night progresses, we experience longer periods of REM sleep. We can read and know about the hearts of dreamers in the Bible. In both the Old and New Testaments, there are many examples of dreamers and some were gifted to interpret the dreams of others. In our everyday life, in the midst of the cares of the world do we dare to dream no matter how big or small? Joel 2:28 says

Historically, this is the time of year that many feel the valleys of gloom and even depression. Physicians and scientists attribute the lull to the season. Although it can be “the most wonderful time of the year” for some, it is a fact that a “cloud of darkness” appears for others. People undergo old and fresh losses, including death, separation, and divorce, rejections, bullying, and the lack of sun in many areas in the country contributes to this “cloud of darkness.” Forty years ago, almost to the week, Zenobia remembers the hollow stare of a woman who sat on the seat across from hers in a District of Columbia Metrorail car. The passenger’s question was, “What is love?” Her situation was someone she trusted and even loved had recently told her their relationship was over. There are three commonly known biblical terms for love, Agape, Eros, and Phileo, all of which are Greek words. We ask that you find a quiet spot for just 15 minutes. Treat yourself! This simple, but much needed message will cause you to ponder two questions: "Do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? " And, "Do you know what a single day may bring forth?" Please do not fret and think that you should have it all figured out. You see, what happens today or tomorrow is not based on our ability to guess, plan, speculate, predict, or deduce. The real question is "Are we ready for anything?" Our trust, faith, and confidence in the Lord should sustain us with certainty when we encounter the unseen and unknown. We can thank the Lord, because it is His love that arranges our journey for today and tomorrow; we may be certain that whatever it brings, His love sent it our way. No matter what we face in life, there can be peace and contentment because of what's known as fellowship with the Lord. We can be in His arms, awaiting His glorious return!
