The Timothy Jordan Show

The Timothy Jordan Show prepares for a transition of its own. A time-shifted radio broadcast, and this podcast feature an interview with Josh Weiss about his work bringing technology infrastructure to rural Guatemala. The last News segment of the Bush era considers his legacy, as well as a host of courtroom and legislative drama.

This evening Timothy brings us into the new year with Liyana, a very special band from Zimbabwe. The Song of the Week remains on hiatus in an undisclosed location. Our first News segment of 2009 features updates on the economy, intelligence, spying, and of course excellence.

The Timothy Jordan Show looks back at 2008, plays some of their favorite interview segments, favorite song of the week, and a review of the year's news.

Scott and Timothy are joined in the studio by their old pal Jessicatastrophe. Timothy interviews Ryan Coonerty for an exit-interview segment as he passes the Mayoral reins on. Alec delivers the news remotely and covers the recent auto bailout, England's Microsoft miscalculation, opulent spending, and whistle-blowing excellence.

Timothy goes green, speaking with Jill Palermo of We Add Up, and learns about fixing our roads, the green way, with Jonas Villalba of Go Green Asphalt. Our News this evening covers how to set a bear trap, the auto bailout and finance, wiretapping, and excellence.

Timothy speaks with the David Bronner, the grandson of Dr. Bronner, the philosophical soap-maker whose company continues to break ground. Also joining us was Debra Holtz who spoke about the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and their plans for World AIDS Day. The News features stories of massacres, economic and otherwise, and a rare example of corporate generosity.

Congressman Sam Farr returns to the show for a long discussion on his goals for the new congress, the Obama administration, civil rights, energy policy, and civil service. The news features Iraqi agreements, net neutrality, presidential records, and flying excellence.

Long-absent from the studio, Eli Salzman returns from world travels to play our listeners a few songs before his upcoming Santa Cruz appearance; but first Timothy has a few words to say about Proposition 8. We're starting our show with a fun new segment this week, Word Associations. Journalist Robert Scheer joins Timothy and the radio crew to talk about his new book, The Pornography of Power, an analysis of the modern relationship between the government, industry, and military. Tonight the Timothy Jordan Show crew takes a look at last weekend's firebombing, talking animal research issues with both sides of the spectrum. We're joined by Zach Friend, a spokesperson from the Santa Cruz Police Department, Bruce Margon the Vice Chancellor of Research at the University of California Santa Cruz, and Peter Young, an animal rights activist.
