It’s good to remind ourselves of the kind of God we pray to.  He is the creator. He spoke - then out of nothing He made the heaven and the earth.  He made everything and He’s holding it all together. That’s comforting! We’ll explore this great truth in more detail today as we continue a look back at the most requested messages from 2023. Today’s message comes from pastor Lloyd’s highly popular series from last year in Genesis one through eleven, titled “Foundations”.

Genesis chapter one tells of our beginnings, and it’s all about God.  God is the primary cause because He planned it, He is the instrumental cause because He produced it, and He is the final cause because He did it for His own glory.  That comes shining through as we study Genesis one starting with verse three.

These chapters are amazing when you consider that they really tell the story of where we came from, where we are headed, and most importantly, why we need a savior. It’s a cautionary tale to be sure, because we clearly see that God will not tolerate sin, and the consequences of open rebellion are terrible to behold.

We look back all those thousands of years to the time right after the flood, and we see that man’s penchant for doing ungodly things has not changed. Technologically we’re very advanced, but sin-wise, we’re still stuck in the mud from the flood!

Today we’ll consider the most significant birth in the history of man. Over two thousand years ago, a baby was born into the world under the most inauspicious of circumstances. But the life He led and the reason He came to the earth make this event truly life-changing.

 Today we’ll continue our special Christmas series with a message titled “The Alpha and the Omega”. It centers around the greatest person who ever lived - and the reason for the Christmas season - Jesus Christ. We’re looking at who Jesus was when He actually walked the earth, and what He will be when He one day makes His triumphant return to earth. And of course, Lloyd will also share what He is now.
