Bridging The Gap

Believing a lie is the topic today as we bring you another edition of Bridging the Gap, with Pastor Lloyd Pulley. Today Lloyd returns to his verse by verse study of Second Peter and attracts our attention to chapter two, verses fifteen through twenty two.

There is another side to the story of false doctrine - the risks involved for those who teach such falsehoods. Today we continue our study in Second Peter.  Here at the midway point of chapter two, Peter expresses some strong words regarding false teachers.

As you and I run the race of life, toward the eternal prize called eternity with God, we’ll have to persevere through some harsh attacks from Satan. That’s our topic today on Bridging the Gap as we study the fifth chapter of First Peter.

 Many Christians make the mistake of believing that when they’re saved, they become immune to the attacks of satan. Nothing could be further from the truth! As a matter of fact, we’re MORE prone to his attack simply because of his desire to damage the cause of Christ. We’re going to study First Peter chapter five, verses eight through eleven today. 

Even a quick glance at television today will tell you that this world has a problem with humility. The catch phrase for society today has got to be “It’s all about ME!” Today Pastor Lloyd continues his study of First Peter.  Peter has some good words to say about the need for a humble heart in chapter five, verses five through seven.

God has given some people the task of being a Pastor, to tenderly love and care for His people, and oversee the spiritual affairs of the church. Quite a responsibility, I’m sure we’d all agree. Today on Bridging the Gap, Lloyd Pulley resumes his study of First Peter.  In chapter five, Peter is speaking to church leadership... what they are to be doing, and what their motivation is to be.

Suffering comes in all shapes and sizes for the Christian, but when it occurs it is helpful to keep our eyes on what awaits us in the end. Today on Bridging the Gap, Lloyd Pulley returns to First Peter chapter four and helps us view suffering through the lens of scripture.
