Bridging The Gap

As we continue our study in First Peter chapter three today, Pastor Lloyd Pulley will take a look at Peter’s summation of the motivations and actions of a Godly person. It’s actually an easy picture to examine. A Godly person will be motivated by a desire to please God with what we do.

Today on Bridging the Gap, Pastor Lloyd Pulley continues his study of First Peter, as we enter chapter three.  This portion of the series has a particular focus on the roles that God has devised for the husband and wife in marriage. We generally recognize that the designer of a product has a distinct advantage in understanding what makes the product work at its peak performance. It’s the same with marriage - God is the Designer and He knows the best operating procedures.

A basketball player, or a plumber or anyone else shouldn’t be imitated because of their vocation... a role model should be a role model because of the life they lead. That’s why Jesus Christ is our ultimate role model! Join pastor Lloyd in First Peter chapter two.

Today on Bridging the Gap, Lloyd Pulley brings a message on the topic of submission.  We’ll soon see what our relationship with those in authority should be.  Is it ever acceptable to disobey the law of the land?  Turn to First Peter chapter two, where we aim to cover verses thirteen through seventeen.

Human beings are an impressionable group. If you took ten people and told nine of them the moon was made of cream cheese, eventually they would convince the tenth, no matter how much he or she knew about astronomy! That’s why it’s so important for Christians to lead Godly lives.... to be examples for the rest of the world. That’s Peter’s message in First Peter chapter two, verses eleven and twelve.

As Christians, now we can go directly to God. We no longer need a priest to act as our go between, because Jesus is our high priest. What a privilege that is, and we’ll take some time today to develop that truth as we continue our verse by verse study of First Peter here on Bridging the Gap.

Let’s ask ourselves today, is each year of our lives a step leading to higher ground?  Welcome to Bridging the Gap, with pastor Lloyd Pulley.   Today we find ourselves immersed in the marvelous first epistle of Peter.  Chapter two starts out with strong encouragement to lay aside particular sins.

Today, Pastor Lloyd resumes his expositional study of First Peter.  We’ll be considering the first three verses of chapter two, where we receive encouragement to lay aside some particular sins.  We’ll soon see that these sins are extremely destructive to the church.

Peter knew all about the power of God. He witnessed first hand the miracles performed by Jesus. But he also knew that God’s power extended beyond anything He did physically – that there was power in the words He spoke! That’s what we are considering right now, as we bring our look at First Peter one to a close – the power of God’s word.

Today as we continue pastor Lloyd’s new series in First Peter. Lloyd will be talking about one of his very favorite subjects today – the eternal power of the word of God. For some people, it’s hard to wrap the mind around a book having power. But when you consider that this book contains the actual words of God Himself, you realize that indeed, the bible does have power – amazing power! 

Maybe you’ve noticed that not all Christians are easy to be around. While we may not like everyone we encounter, we are commanded to love them anyway.  That’s not always easy is it?  Today’s Bridging the Gap broadcast will help us with that.  We’re about to see our need to love one another, even when it’s a challenge.  Pastor Lloyd Pulley brings First Peter one before us today, and encourages us to have a sincere love for the brethren.  

Today we’ll be continuing pastor Lloyd’s series in the wonderful book of First Peter.  In the middle of chapter one, the apostle Peter says that in light of our salvation, we’re to live in hope, holiness and fear.  That’s the appropriate response to our salvation in Christ, but what does that look like? Holiness is a word that gets tossed around a lot in Christian circles, but what does it really mean to be “Holy”?

Today on Bridging the Gap, we’ll take you to First Peter one, and give you good reasons to remain faithful to God no matter what comes your way.  Pastor Lloyd Pulley has an eye on verses thirteen through twenty one today, with a message titled “The Call and Encouragement to Holiness”.

We’re looking at the first verses of First Peter chapter one today. One thing that should always give us hope is our salvation through Christ. Here’s pastor Lloyd with a message titled, “A Living Hope”.

Today on Bridging the Gap, pastor Lloyd Pulley will continue a verse by verse tour of the book of First Peter. Peter was greatly influenced by his experiences with the Apostle Paul, and we’ll see that influence today in the first verses of First Peter chapter one. The gospel message is a lot simpler than many people make it out to be. God intended it to be readily available to anyone who would simply repent of their sins, and receive His free gift on salvation. We’ll concentrate our thoughts on salvation in our first message from First Peter.

When times are tough, the book of First Peter is a good place to turn.  And that’s where we’re headed today and in the coming weeks on Bridging the Gap. Pastor Lloyd Pulley is going to show us how to live the Christian life in the context of suffering.  Here he is to introduce the book to us and give us the proper response to persecution.
