God wants you to hear his voice. Of course God speaks, He is literally the Word! (John 1:1). You were created to hear the voice of God (Romans 8:16). God gave you a spirit so you could talk to His Spirit. You were saved to hear the voice of God (Hebrews 8:10). What does the voice of God sound like? 1 Kings 19:12 “still small voice.” Your “silent voice” is your thoughts. God’s voice sounds like your thoughts but from a different source.  Practical Tips for Hearing God’s Voice 1. Ask. James 4:2  2. Approach. James 4:8 Draw near to God – the closer you are to Him, the better you hear from Him.  3. Listen.Psalm 46:10 In order to hear the Lord, you’ll need to lower the volume of life.4. Recognize. John 10:27 Be a sheep! Voice recognition comes through repetition.   5. We live in a time of conspiracy theories. Why do people believe conspiracy theories? How should Christians respond to conspiracy theories? God is not a vending machine where we put in the money, punch in the code, and out comes the blessing. He’s God. We work for God, not the other way around.     2. It creates guilt if you’re not prosperous because you must be doing something wrong. God’s goal for your life is not luxury, but maturity.
