  • A New Creation

    19/10/2021 Duração: 32min

Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry.  You can contact us through our website atyieldtothekingministry.org When I think of something old, I think of something that is traditional, outdated, or used.  Just because something is old doesn't mean it’s without value. Family heirlooms appreciate in worth with every generation. There's an Old English traditional rhyme that dates back to 19th-century Lancashire. It describes the items a bride should have on her wedding day: "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a sixpence in your shoe." In Christ, we are brand new in the sight of God, no matter our chronological age or how battered, torn, and tired we may be. God’s grace and mercy upcycles believers in Christ.  He reuses us as His new creation and we become more valuable in His sight.  I Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." • Study of Holy Scriptures

    21/09/2021 Duração: 33min

It is important to study the Holy Scriptures! Why? Because when we study and know Holy Scriptures, we can stand on the promises of God and not waver in our journey. Jesus walks and talks with us. When we guard Scriptures in our heart, along with the indwelling of the the Holy Spirit, we have an internal GPS! II Timothy 2:15 says,"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (NKJV) Join us Tuesday, Sepember 21, 2021, at 3:30 PM, PDT, for a discussion with our guest Dr. Michael Ley, DMin, ThD. He resides in the Pacific Northwest, in the greater Metropolitan Seattle, Washington area. After serving with the King County Department of Corrections, as an officer for 35-plus years, Dr. Ley retired. But, he continues to labor in the Lord’s vineyard. • The Holy Bible

    07/09/2021 Duração: 17min

The Holy Bible is the sacred Word of God. It shows His characater and accounts for God's revelation of himself to His people. God caused the Bible to be written for the express purpose of revealing to us His plan for redemption. In each section of the Bible, we see God's holy, unchanging, faithful, gracious and loving character. II Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (NASB). Join us Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 3:30 PM, PDT, for an introductory discussion about the Bible and it's content. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946. • Being Justified by Faith

    24/08/2021 Duração: 31min

Christians may be surprised to learn that the doctrine of justification by faith is not only found in the New Testament but also in the Old Testament. Genesis 15:6, says, "Abraham, in response to God’s promise, believed the LORD, and it was counted to him as righteous."  In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul wrote about justification by faith by contrasting justification by faith with justification by works of the law.  We are not justified by our works.  And, the blessing is, being "justified" means we are no longer enemies of God!  Romans 5:1 says, "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (NKJV) Join us Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 3:30 PM, PDT, for part II discussion with our guest, Dr. Michael Ley, DMin, ThD. Dr. Ley retired from King County Department of Corrections, after serving 35-plus years as an Officer. He is a well-known teacher at the Bishop A. L. Hardy Academy of Theology, and founder and president of New Beginnings Bible Ministries. W

  • Justification by Faith

    10/08/2021 Duração: 35min

The Christian belief system is rooted in justification by faith. When sinners recognize and acknowledge their need for a Savior, they are making their way toward God. Accepting the Son of God, Christ Jesus, as Savior is mankind being saved by grace through faith. Our justification is by faith alone and apart from good deeds. Romans 4:3 says, For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”(NASB) Join us Tuesday, August 10, at 3:30 PM, PDT,with special guest Dr. Michael Ley, DMin, ThD. He will explore what it means to be justified by faith. Dr. Ley retired from King County Department of Corrections, after serving 35-plus years as an Officer. • The Heart of Sacrificial Giving

    27/07/2021 Duração: 19min

When growing up, a common slogan often said is “live for today and hope for tomorrow.” Today, another more common phrase recognizes two differing categories of people, the “haves and have nots.” If we live for material wealth and allow the world to define our worth, we’re in trouble and living life out on a limb. Material wealth passes away, but spiritual wealth is being in a rich relationship with Christ Jesus as Savior, Master and Lord, for all eternity. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV) We have the promise of an abundant life and God promises to provide our every need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Join us Tuesday, July 27, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as we explore and discuss the spiritual heart condition that is gripped with holding back on giving back to God what is His. • Mrs. Job and Unwise Counsel

    29/06/2021 Duração: 15min

Job is an interesting book in the Bible. Some find the account of Job unlike God because He allows Satan to cause His servant Job to suffer. To the contrary, God accomplishes His divine purpose for the pain and suffering that Job and his family endured. The account of Job's wife, whose name we don't know, indicates she walked alongside her husband until she could bear no more. In the midst of her despair, she suggested that Job curse God and die!  Her counsel wasn't the best; she had lost sight of who God is. Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."(NIV) Join us Tuesday, June 29, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as we explore and discuss the account of Mrs. Job and the importance of words of wisdom and Godly counsel despite the circumstances. • Queen Esther in the Midst of God's Plan

    15/06/2021 Duração: 18min

The Book of Esther was written in the 5th Century BC. It’s nestled in between the Book of Nehemiah and the Book of Job in the Protestant Bible. During our last podcast, we dissected the story of Vashti the Queen of Persia. Vashti was dethroned and Queen Esther, a Jewish young woman, was chosen as her successor. God positioned Esther to be used in His master plan to save the Jewish people. There are four main characters in the Book of Esther, God, who is not mentioned, but clearly in the midst of it all; Xerxes, King of Persia; Mordecai, Esther’s cousin; and Haman, chief minister to King Xerxes. Esther is the “star” of the story, but their lives are intricately interwoven. Join us Tuesday, June 15, at 3:30 PM, PDT, as we explore and discuss the story of Queen Esther. • Queen Vashti and Her Strong Convictions

    04/05/2021 Duração: 16min

Vashti was Queen of Persia and the first wife of Ahasuerus (Xerxes), King of Persia. She was fair to look upon. Her husband, the King was wealthy. He gloated in his wealth for six months. At the conclusion of this eventful lifestyle, he held one last feast of seven days. During this feast, King Ahasuerus summoned for Vashti, his wife. He wanted her to parade before the princes and nobles of all his provinces to show off her beauty. Queen Vashti refused to do so and was dethroned. This remarkable story is recorded in chapter 1 of the Book of Esther. God has a master plan for all of us. Sometimes we don’t know how His plans for our lives are interwoven into His plans for the lives of others. God in His infinite wisdom, allowed Queen Vashti to be dethroned so Queen Esther would become Queen of Persia at the right time for the right reason. Join us Tuesday, May 4, at 3:30PM, PDT,as we dissect Queen Vashti’s choice that led to her dethroning. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946.  Hope4Today is an outre

  • The Will of God

    23/03/2021 Duração: 16min

How often do we pray, "Lord, thy will be done?" What is the will of God? The short answer is it can be found in the Bible. We don’t have to search for God's sovereign will as if it's unattainable; we just need to discover His will within Scripture and apply them to our lives. God has revealed His will, precept upon pecept, to let us know what is right and true, and pleasing to Him. In II Tim. 3:16-17 (NIV) it says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."As followers of Christ, we should desire and pray for God's sovereign will to be complete in our lives. God in His infinite wisdom, mercy and grace, has absolute control and care over our souls! Join us Tuesday, March 23, at 3:30 PM, PDT,as we further discuss the will of God. • For Such A Time As This

    09/03/2021 Duração: 15min

God transcends space and time, yet time belongs to Him. We cannot speed up nor delay time. He ordains the seasons of life. Our life belongs to Him.  We are in His mighty hands!  We cannot change the earthly seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall. All of God's creation serves a purpose for such a time as this.  God is still speaking and letting us know time is of the essence. What season of life are you in?  Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens...."  God is not random; there is great comfort in knowing that God is a God of order.  Join us Tuesday, March 9, at 3:30 PM, PST, as we further discuss time, activities and the seasons of life. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. • Saying Yes to God

    23/02/2021 Duração: 26min

God allows us to choose life or death! He gives us the free choice and free will to live our lives the way we desire. But, of course God's desire for us is to choose life. When we love and obey Him, we will say "yes." And through that growth process, we become closer and closer to Him. Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV) says, "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;"  Dr. Michael Ley, DMin, ThD, our special studio guest, will join us. He’s a retired Officer from King County Department of Corrections, after 35-plus years. Dr. Ley is a well-known teacher at the Bishop A. L. • Making Choices is a God Given Ability

    09/02/2021 Duração: 20min

Imagine this, God allows us to make choices! He gives us the free choice and free will to live our lives the way we desire. But, of course God desires that we would choose to love and obey Him. When our hearts are turned toward God, then making decisions that honor Him are possible. Ephesians 1:11 (NKJV) says,11 "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory." • Send Me Lord and I Will Go

    26/01/2021 Duração: 46min

As a believer in Christ Jesus, a call to service is a delight! Whether ordained clergy or not, God desires that all be laborers in His kingdom. When God gives us an assignment, He equips us to carry out His work. His calling always includes a concern about others and the condition of their souls.  Ministry is not merely something we can do, but something we must do. How does one know when God is calling? It is when we see the collaborative working of God's divine purpose uniting with our willingness to go. Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV) says, "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Join us Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 3:30 PM, PST.  Evangelist Judy Harris, our special guest, will share her story about her call and response into a life of ministry. To speak with the host call in (646) 668-2946 Hope4Todayis an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. 12/01/2021 Duração: 46min

How does one know when a calling has been placed on their life for ministry? It becomes an overwhelming obsession without escape. Ephesians 4:1-3 (NKJV) says, “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." • New Beginnings: A Hope and a Future

    29/12/2020 Duração: 30min

January 1, 2021 kicks off the new year! HAPPY NEW YEAR, to you all. Yes, the time has come to wrap up the old and usher in the new. What's in store exactly? I don't know. But, I will give thanks to God for a new beginning, a fresh start, and second chances. The year 2020 will go down in US history as a time of civil, social and political unrest; a period when hundreds of thousands of people loss their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic public health crisis; and two-quarters of the US economy crashing. Through it all, many lost hope and the possibility of what a bright future may hold. Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NIV) says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." No matter what the circumstances, hold fast to God's promises and plans for our lives. He listens and responds to our prayers of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. J

  • Peace on Earth and Goodwill Toward Men

    15/12/2020 Duração: 16min

During the holiday season, I love to open Christmas cards and read words of encouragement that are rooted in the Word of God. Some of these words that truly reflect the reason for Christmas are joy, peace, love, happiness, family, and good tidings. Nowadays, most Christmas cards just say "Happy Holidays"!  Sadly enough, we're lucky if we even see the word Christmas anymore.   Jesus is the reason for the season! This passage sums it up God's love, joy, and peace. Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."    Join us Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 3:30 PM, PST.  We'll reflect on the true meaning of the Christmas holiday, God's gift of salvation. • A Prayer of Thanksgiving

    01/12/2020 Duração: 14min

We just celebrated Thanksgiving Day, which for many had a very different look and feel. Because of COVID-19, it was recommended that families in separate households not fellowship together. It was strongly suggested that if traveling plans were being made, to do so by automobile. Most people exercised wisdom and sheltered-in, while trying to make the best of a grim situation. I know of many people who reluctantly spent Thanksgiving Day alone. I Thessalonians 5:18 says, "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (NIV). No matter what the circumstances, we are to give thanks. Why?  Because God provides, He protects, He delivers, He heals, and He is the giver of salvation. He sent His only begotten son, Jesus the Christ, to die for the sins of the world.   Join us Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 3:30 PM, PST, as we give thanks to our heavenly Father. Call in to speak with the host (646) 668-2946 Hope4Today is an outreach program of Yield to the King Ministry. • The Soul of Our Nation and Redemption

    03/11/2020 Duração: 15min

John Lewis, a well-known civil rights leader, wrote an essay before his death on July 17, 2020. His essay was read at his funeral. Mr. Lewis’ bidding for all America is heard through these words,"Together, you can redeem the soul of our nation. Though I am gone, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe." When I hear these two words "soul" and "redeem", they have a spiritual connotation. Soul is our breathing conscious body. Redemption speaks to the person and work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. Psalm 107:1-2 says, "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…" (NIV) Join us Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 3:30 PM, PST, as we discus, from a biblical perspective, the soul of America and how our nation can be redeemed. • Real Talk: What's Going On? Part II

    06/10/2020 Duração: 01h39min

Imagine a paneramic view of America. Here's what you mostly likely will see: people who are homeless; people standing in foodbank lines; people protesting police killings; police standoffs; people dying of COVID-19; people wearing masks; and businesses, schools and church buildings closed. Not a pretty sight, right? And, as if that's not enough, poltics have fueled a partisan divide in our nation like never before. Many have placed their hope in the upcoming presidential election and a very much needed cure-all vacine for COVID-19. What will it take to heal our nation? II Chronicles 7:14 says, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (NIV) Join us Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 3:30 PM, PDT, for some real talk. We will continue our conversation with Pastor Lonnie Arnold. This man of God will enlighten us from a biblical perspective. Prayerfull
