09/07/2019 Duração: 16minGod's voice is easily detectable. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? When we read the Bible, a red-letter edition helps us know when Jesus is speaking. But what about when we're not reading God's word? How does God speak to us then? Is His voice a soft whisper or resounding boom? How can we be sure if it's really God speaking? The key is following Him, not just hearing and knowing His voice. John 10:27 says, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." We should be ready to hear, know and respond to the voice of God, especially when He asks us to do something for Him. We must get to that place where we respond without reservation! My Mornings with Jesus
11/06/2019 Duração: 15minEach morning I awaken is a gift from God! At the top of the hour, 6:00 am, I am getting out of bed. Most of the time I'm eager to give God my first few seconds, minutes or hours. On a good day when I arise, I pray and give thanks for another day and welcome what lies ahead. I ask God to order my steps. My desire is to give Him my first fruit of another day. In complete honesty, I don't always approach my mornings like that. What about you? We know our mornings can be consumed with what we want and feel are important – coffee, tea, newspaper, breakfast, TV, radio, spouse, children, etc. What is the advantage of spending the first seconds, minutes or hours, of our morning with Jesus? Lamentations 3:22-24, says "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Let God Choose: He Knows Best
28/05/2019 Duração: 15minI remember most of the childhood nursery rhymes, such as "Baa Baa Black Sheep", "A-Tisket, A-Tasket", "Georgie Porgie", and "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush", just to name a few. As kids when playing in a large group, it was necessary to pare down the group. The fairest way to do that was to use the counting rhyme "Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe" to choose someone or count them out. I am so glad our Heavenly Father does not use a nursery rhyme to chose his people. I am also very thankful that God does not act randomly. We serve a God who is all-knowing, who ordains, who governs, who is just, and never fails. Women: God Uses Unique and Ordinary People
07/05/2019 Duração: 16minWomen are unique! God has given us great responsibilities. Just think, we get to experience being daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, aunts, and grandmothers. God's Word graciously instructs us on widowhood, modesty, conduct that is "becoming", and authority. What is required of us to realize God's plan for our lives? Short answer --God's wisdom and a heart of obedience. Years ago, I memorized this Scripture, "The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish woman tears it down with her own hands." Proverbs 14:1 (NIV). That verse sums it up. It speaks volumes. Women, we can either build our house or tear it down. Which will it be? The Splendors of Egypt Tour and Biblical Roots
23/04/2019 Duração: 16minI recently returned from a 10-day tour in Egypt. It was spectacular! The itinerary was full of all the main tourist attractions in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and Kom Ombo/Edfu. As well as, a three-day cruise on the Nile. I got to stand on the grounds of ancient history with all its unexplained mysteries. I couldn't begin to comprehend it all without going back to the Bible. It was there that I was reminded of how Egypt played a critical role in the history of the children of Israel. The children of Israel spent at least 400 years in Egypt. According to Genesis 15:12-13, Abram fell into a deep sleep and in verse 13 Scripture says, Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there." What A Difference A Day Makes
26/03/2019 Duração: 16minSometimes it's difficult to get up in the morning and get going. We all have our daily routines and if we are completely honest with ourselves life can become mundane. It's easy to feel as though we are stuck in a rut. What if we woke up each morning with the perspective that each day is a gift from God? Each day brings new possibilities. We have 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week, at least 30 days in a month, and 365 days in a year. Psalm 27:4 says, "One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple." Jesus Christ sacrificed and withdrew into the desert for 40 days. As our perfect example, we too can fast from food, festivities, or anything else that falls into the categories of sin and distractions. What will you give up? Jesus is our Lifeline Through Life and Death
04/12/2018 Duração: 16minUpon conception the gift of life is in order. But, how long will we live? These past few months, I have been to more funeral/memorial services than I care to count. My family members, friends and colleagues are dying! In the midst of it all, I asked this question, "How is it that my 97 year old aunt is still living and my cousin's daughter who was age 35 died?" After much sadness, weeping and prayer, I landed on my feet, standing firmly on my biblical foundation and the promises of God. There is comfort in knowing that when we go home to be with the Lord our work is complete. "The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1 (NIV) God knows the exact day and hour He will call His children home. It's not an hour too soon nor a day too late. Thanksgiving: A Special Day for the Homeless

In North America, this annual national holiday is marked by religious observances and a traditional meal including turkey. The holiday commemorates a harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621, and is held in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. I Thess. 5:17 says "...in everything give thanks." On November 22, many are looking forward to gathering with family and friends and having a traditional turkey dinner. It'll be a time of fellowship, laughter, food, and whatever else family traditions hold. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV). Many believers today aspire to be disciples and to make disciples, but don't know how. You may ask, so what is required of the believer to become a discipler? The short answer would be – to pray and receive direction from God, know and use the Bible for instruction, and live a transparent life! Look at it this way, you don't have to be the expert, if you are making the disciple. God does the work and will use you. Rather, it is an opportunity for you the discipler and the disciplee to grow together in faith by learning from one another, laying a solid foundation and holding each other accountable.
