Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 21 The Scribe of The Quran Zayd (ra) The Learned. Ibn Abbas honours Zayd (ra) as the former has been commanded to honour the learned. We have been commanded to hold on to the stirrup of our teachers and seniors (Ibn An-Najjaar). It's not part of the Believers character that he flatters anyone except in seeking knowledge (Ibn Adee). Blessings are found amongst your 'akaa birikum' great ones [the ones with knowledge] (Haakim).

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 20 The Scribe of The Quran The Hour of Distress, Surah 9 v117. Zayd (ra) participates at Uhud and is given an Egyptian garment, at the time he was 15 and The Messenger ﷺ said, what an excellent youngster. The standard is given to Zayd (ra) as he has knowledge of The Quran. The jurits are 4, Umar, Alee, Zayd ibn Thabit And ibn Masood (raa). 6 give verdicts Umar, Alee, ibn Masood, Zayd, Ubayy & Abu Moosa (raa).  Zayd (ra) surpassed the people in 2 areas, The laws of Inheritance and in The Quran.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 19 The Scribe of The Quran The Prodigy Abu Bakr (ra), 'This is the daughter of such a man who was better than I. He was one of the Chiefs on the Day of Aqabah and had attended both Badr then fell as a martyr on The Day of Uhud' (Haakim). The daughters of Sa'ad ibn Rabee (ra) inherit from their father as Surah Nisa v 11 is revealed. Anas ibn Nadhr (ra) gains a spiritual opening [Kashf] at Uhud, Surah 33 v23.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 18  The Scribe of The Quran The unmarried Zayd (ra) is sent to look for his future father in-law at Uhud. During the Battle of Uhud, The Messenger ﷺ sends Zayd (ra) [the future son in-law of Sa'ad ibn Rabee (ra)] to look for Sa'ad (ra), 'If you see him convey ny Salaam to him and inform him that The Messenger ﷺ asks how is he keeping'... May Allah SWT have mercy upon Saad ibn Rabee (ra), he has been sincere to both Allah SWT & His Messenger ﷺ (Haakim). During his reign, Abu Bakr (ra) honours the daughter of Sa'ad ibn Rabee (ra). Later on, Zayd (ra) married Jameela (raa), her father Sa'ad (ra) was martyred at Uhud whilst her mother was pregnant with her (Ibn Sa'd).

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 17 The Scribe of The Quran The Day of Criterion Zayd (ra), Marwaan (rah) & The Hidden Scribes. Zayd (ra) was refused participation at Badr due to his tender age [12 years] (Al Isaabah). His elder brother Yazid (ra) is however a Badri. On the 17th of Ramadhan (The day of Badr) Zayd (ra) spent the entire night in voluntary prayers (Tabaree). Battle of Badr  Zayd (ra) was 12 years. Battle of Uhud Zayd (ra) was 13 years. Rafi ibn Khadeej (ra) pleaded his case as an expert archer and was ultimately accepted.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 16  The Scribe of The Quran I advise you to have shame towards Allah SWT just as you have shame towards a pious person (Ahmad). Zayd (ra) clarifies 2 matters... Muzaara - a seed is supplied by the landowner  Mukhaaraba - the cultivator supplies the seed. Females, Hajj & The Farewell Tawaaf.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 15  The Scribe of The Quran That they may see things that benefit them, Surah Hajj 22 v28. Makk means to ruin or destroy, thus Makkah either ruins you or destroys your sins. The worst of people are those who will lead people into making mistakes with puzzling questions (Tabarani). A man should be playful with his wife & children... (Al Majaalisah).

Zayd (ra) refuses to take an Oath at the pulpit in Al Madina masjid (Surah 22  vv 28 32 Those that hold in high esteem the Signs of Allah SWT comes from the piety of the heart). Zayd (ra) & the 7 sons of Sereen (rah), these 3 have the same mother, these 2 from another mother and these 2 are from a third mother (Ibn Assakir). The case of a skilled Qaa-if, Ayesha (raa) & The Messenger ﷺ.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 13 The Scribe of The Quran The Master of Inheritance The most Compassionate of my Ummah, Abu Bakr (ra) The firmest in Commands, Umar (ra) The most true in modesty, Uthmaan (ra) The best in reciting the Book, Ubayy ibn Kaab (ra) The most knowledgeable in inheritance laws, Zayd ibn Thabit (ra) The most knowledge in the halal & Harram is Mu'adh ibn Jabal (ra) The trustworthy of this ummah, Abu Obaydah ibn Al Jar'rah (ra) (Nasaee). The best judge is Alee (ra) (Tirmidhi). After The Battle of Yamama, Abu Bakr orders Zayd (raa) to distribute estates, Zayd (ra) only distributed amongst the surviving relatives.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 12 The Scribe of The Quran "Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra) once wrote to Hadrat Ubayy ibn Ka'ab (ra) saying, "Verily Allah (SWT) has made the tongue an interpreter for the heart and has made the heart a treasure chest and a shepherd - Thus silence is a veil for the ignorant and beauty for the scholars. The tongue therefore follows the instructions of the heart and as long as the heart remains in charge of the tongue, the speech emerging from the tongue will be pleasant and correct - the tongue will then make no slip-ups and blunders. There is however no tolerating a person whose heart does not lead his tongue. When a person leaves his tongue to do the talking without conforming with the dictates of the heart, he cuts off his nose (ie embarrases himself). (A persons heart can never be upright until his tongue his upright.) However when he weighs his words and his actions, his words will always be true. Every miser you see is generous with words but stingy with action

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 11  The Scribe of The Quran A supplication for insomnia given to Khalid (ra) 'O Allah SWT Lord of the seven heavens and all that they give shade to Lord of the earths and all that they support Lord of the devils and all those whom they lead astray Be a Protector to me from all Your creation to prevent them from transgressing against me or oppressing me  Those whom You protect are mighty, Glorious is Your praise and there is no no God except You' (Tirmidhi).

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 10   The Scribe of The Quran The words of The Trustworthy Spirit (Jibreel as). A supplication for sleeplessness. 'O Allah SWT the stars have set and the eyes are resting but you are The Ever Living, Self Subsisting! Make my night calm and my eyes sleep!' (Tabarani). A supplication given to Khalid (ra) as he was experiencing frightening dreams which affected his Salaah.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 9  The Scribe of The Quran The Recorded Footsteps Zayd (ra) observes The Messenger ﷺ taking short steps whilst walking to Salaah as a person remains in Salaah as long as he is engaged in the effort of Salaah (Tabarani). Footsteps to Salaah * Rewards of Salah * Sins forgiven for each step * Good deeds recorded for each step * Received the reward of Sadaqa * Elevated rank * Protects from the punishment of the grave Surah 36 v12, We record that which they send before [deeds] and their traces [footsteps].

Quran class Session 4 Surah 25 The Criterion Session 4 v13-16 The Divine Binding Verse 13,' when they are cast therein bind them and constrict them' like the point of a spear. 'People will be hammered into Jahnnam just like nails are hammered into walls.' Umar ibn Abdul Azeez (rah) (as Governor)  recited verse 13 and sobbed so much arose and entered his dwelling and the people dispersed. Iblees will be the first to be clothed in fire and will be brought near Hell he will call out for his destruction, those who followed him will do the same. 'If a garment of hell was suspended between heaven & earth, the people of earth will perish due to the heat.' The 70k Angels of Wrath  Surah 89 Fajr, none binds like He binds. Is this better or the Eternal Garden promised to those with Taqwaa, verse 15. The most explicit verse regarding the everlasting nature of Paradise (Hafiz Bagawi), Surah 15 v48 - there is no sense of fatigue nor will they be ever asked to leave.

Quran class Surah 25 The Criterion Session 3 v8-11 The address of the folly of the unbelievers. The unbelievers say, why hasn't the Messenger ﷺ been give 'Aqala' blessings from all sides and an authority 'The hour will not pass until my ummah will join the polythesists and worship idols.' The 7 Gates of Hell Jahannum, Hutamah, Lazza, Sa'ir, Saaar, Hawiyah & Jahim. The 7 Ha-Meem Surahs prevent the reciter from entering these 7 gates.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 8 4 men from the Ansaar, Al Khazraj collected the Quran during the lifetime of The Messenger ﷺ... Ubaay ibn Ka'ab Mu'aazh ibn Jabal Zayd ibn Thabit Abu Zayd - (raa) Qays ibn al-Sakan ibn Za'awra, Banu An-Najjar, an Aqabee & Badri. The collectors are those who hear obey and thus collect it as per Abu Dar'daa (ra) (Ahmad). 4 from the Al Aws Hanzala ibn Raahib - bathed by the angels. Sa'ad ibn Moaazh - The glorious Throne shook when he was martyred. Aasim ibn Thabit ibn Abil Aflah - protected by a swarm of wasps when the idolaters intended to mutilate his body. Kuzaymah ibn Thabit - was equal to the testimony of 2 people (raa). Rejoice in the Bounty of Allah SWT & in His Mercy (The Messenger ﷺ), Indeed this is better than what they hoard, Surah 10 v58.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 7 The Scribe of The Quran Zayd (ra), The Prodigy, The Neighbour of The Messenger ﷺ. A blind man wished he could join the faithful in the campaigns, Surah 4 v95 is revealed. The Messenger ﷺ would correct any errors of Zayd (ra) (Tabarani). Surah 80 v 13-16, Written on honoured pages, Exalted & Purified. By the hands of the Scribes, honored and pious. After reciting Surah Najm to The Messenger ﷺ Zayd (ra) delayed the prostration (Bukhari).

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 6 The Scribe of The Quran Zayd (ra) The Prodigy, The Neighbour of The Messenger ﷺ Write O Zayd (ra)! Place the Pen on your ear, indeed it helps keep the memory of the dictator sharp (Tirmidhi). The Messenger ﷺ had around 42 scribes (Majmoo Fatawaa). The utmost importance of an education. Zayd (ra) learnt how to write from a POW at Badr, soon after he was given an incredible responsibility. Zayd (ra) wrote letters to Kings on behalf of The Messenger ﷺ.

Hadrat Zayd ibn Thaabit (ra), Session 5. The Scribe of The Quran Zayd (ra), The Prodigy By the time The Messenger ﷺ migrated to Al Medina, Zayd (ra) was 11 years old and had memorised 17 Surahs from the Quran and took it upon himself to recite to The Messenger ﷺ who was delighted (Siyar). Whoever learns the Quran in his youth then Allah SWT will make it permeate into his flesh & blood (Bukhari). Zayd (ra) was told to learn Hebrew and learnt the language in 15 days, he had mastered it. Zayd (ra) also learnt the Persian language in 18 days and the Ethiopian language (Al Bidaya). Zayd (ra) learnt Syriac in 17 days and mastered it (Ahmad). Zayd (ra) recorded the Divine Revelation and also wrote to kings for he was well acquainted with Pharisee, Latin & Ethiopian (Tajaarib Al Umam). Surah 25 Session 2 v3-7 The verses discuss the attributes of a True God! Can any originate creation then repeat it? The pagans ask regarding the Messenger ﷺ, why does he eat food & walk in the market places? All Prophets visited the market places and ate food, verse 20. 'We only see a man like us!' Shayan saw the human form of Prophet Adam (as) but did not acknowledge the Essence of the Prophet. Asiyah (raa) honours Prophet Musa (as) and this leads her to The Garden of Eternity.
